unfortunately I don't think that's the case - the hard core fans will sit and watch F1 regardless, its the casual drop in fans that sky will see most $ in pandering too. Hence Ted's notebook is replaced with more purile tripe like radio controlled cars and groping Carlos sainz.
If you were a casual drop-in fan and that was the first thing you saw when you tuned in, would you feel encouraged to stick around to see more?

Sky has been pushing it's £10 upgrade hard this last week.

The idea with Sky is stack it high, sell it cheap. They are trying to get F1 to appeal to the masses, exactly what Liberty want.

F1 is not for the nasal beardy nerds to discuss over their pint of Old Futtocks any more.

Missed not having the notebook seemed a good way to wind it all down.

I’m not sure of Karun maybe just trying a bit hard being new, watched him walk the paddock with SL on Saturday(I think) he was like a puppy that just got off his lead running about all over the place jumping in when people were having their lunch.

Haha good luck sky viewers. Soon you will wish for the sweet serenity of the C4 coverage.

Karun >>> Ted.

Very much enjoyed the oz gp without teds inane, inaccurate ramblings.

Chandok has encyclopaedic f1 knowledge, infectious enthusiasm and is a handy peddler himself. He’s good in the comms box as well.

I actually quite liked Karun - calm and measured comments etc and information given.

Minus 2, wife and I.

He's ok as an add on, but not as a replacement. We enjoyed his quirky style. Less so his footwear, lol.

Always impressed me with his driving, demeanour and his knowledge about the history of F1 something many drivers seem oblivious to.

Another - here too. I find Karun's voice really annoying. I quite like Ted's rambles as well.

They should keep Ted doing what he did and replace the god awful Crofty with Chandok.

If we are resetting the Sky F1 team, can we all agree to get rid of the charisma lacking tw@t Lazenby? He does nothing for the show at all.
Natalie Pinkham could easily be the host for the weekend.

Did you hear Lazenby during testing - thought he was very good and surprisingly knowledgeable.

Not sure what Pinkham adds to the show other than a bit of decoration, she's not a particularly good interviewer.

Hang on, what's the score now? This should have been a poll. I'm going to add 0 here by saying I'm ambivalent towards both Ted and Karun. They are both watchable in their own way, but they are also different, and not directly interchangeable.

And another.

Wasn't atall fussed at possibility of Ted's notebook finally running out of pages and being binned.

The casual fans here at work didn't care for Ted, us anoraks preferred him.

I guess giving him a show of his own is to appease the anoraks, its not like theres a shortage of spare time to fill on sky sports f1

Really?? I class myself as an anorak and found Ted insufferable (pencils for tyre stints ffs).

I would have thought it the other way round, Ted explaining things in layman terms to the masses...in a stuttering...confused way.
