I think he means why do Sky need 13 people on their presenting team, when about 6 would be sufficient.
Rachel Brookes
Martin Brundle
Jenson Button
Karun Chandhok
David Croft
Anthony Davidson
Paul Di Resta
Johnny Herbert
Damon Hill
Ted Kravitz
Simon Lazenby
Natalie Pinkham
Nico Rosberg
The above would work for me - I love JH, but he doesn't add a great deal these days.Martin Brundle
Jenson Button
Karun Chandhok
Anthony Davidson
Damon Hill
Ted Kravitz
Natalie Pinkham
Nico Rosberg
With such a huge cast of pundits, many of whom seem to duplicate roles, I would assume Sky will rotate their ‘talent’ with only Lazenby & Croft as lead presenter and commentator doing all 21 races and everybody else doing selected races. Even Brundle has never done all the races, he usually skipped Hungary.

bks, thought we were rid of him
Oh well. Wonder how they're going to use both KC and TK?
Pure speculation but, I think Ted will continue in the pit lane and I suspect Karun is being groomed to take over from Martin in the comm box at some point, he's 60 this year, it will be a sad day when he retires but none of us can go on forever. Hopefully he won't disappear completely if and when he calls it a day, be nice to see him at the European races/title deciders/whenever he feels like it.Oh well. Murray Walker did it full time until he was 78, and still occasionally pops up now at 95 years of age. Maybe he could make a comeback if Brundle is getting tired?thegreenhell said:

I wish Sky would get rid of Crofty, and replace him with Karun Chandhok.

At the start of every race, when Crofty yells 'AND IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO' I always mute the TV, and have to leave it muted for at least the first lap and sometimes more.Crofty spends too much time with off topic useless chitchat.

Maybe he could make a comeback if Brundle is getting tired?Back in Murray's last season there were 17 races not 21, season finished mid October not December and there were more races in Europe (11 then, 9 now, San Marino and European have disappeared and I'm counting Russia and Azerbaijan as flyaways), then there were 6 flyaways, now it's 12, it has to take it's toll. It was a hell of a lot of travelling then, it's even worse now. They also spend a lot more time on air now, back then it was quali and race now it's all the quali sessions too, plus all the build up and post race shows, good for us, bad for them.
It's a different world now and that's not knocking what Murray and the TV crews did then, he is broadcasting royalty but the sheer amount of travelling now is crazy, how the mechanics do it god only knows and I believe they fly economy.

As for karen replacing him I dont really care as I wont be a sky f1 viewer but he just spouts information like you could find
yourself. Ok if you are impressed by a human google.
It will be nice on C4 to just look at the broadcast picture without excess distraction unless they find someone else like him.
As for Ted there is more to it than some think. Its relationships build up over years so he can ask questions and get good answers behind the scenes.
What you find with a lot of the new persons is they ask a question then go straight on the air with whatever answer with no actual idea what it meant.
Eventually everyone in f1 gets wise and the whole show devolves to fashion and what they had for breakfast.
