Are Haas embarrassed about Rich Energy?
Discussion
I don't get this. They have to have a hearing for the court to consider if their appeal is grounded in anything of substance - and during that hearing they're tweeting using the logo they are not allowed to use anymore..?
Absolute jokers. I do wonder if they're genuinely idiots - or clever enough to figure out that all publicity is good publicity, and are happy to both create and now drag out this charade for as long as possible. They're absolutely desperate to provoke RB in to some sort of social media feud, so perhaps it is all just a massive comedy show simply to gain brand recognition.

I read, I believe on here, that Whyte would still need an injunction after the previous hearing to stop RE using the logo.I would have thought from Whyte's point of views the longer it goes on the better, it's great positive publicity for them.

That's true. Whatever RE think they're doing to promote their brand, they're doing far more to promote Whyte I would have thought from Whyte's point of views the longer it goes on the better, it's great positive publicity for them.

..although that is lowering themselves to RE's level (which seems preeeeeety low!)
Well, that went well for them...

A further hearing of the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court was heard in the Rolls Building in London on Thursday morning, where Rich Energy’s request to be allowed to take their case to the Court of Appeal was refused.
Further orders were made against Rich Energy, which are:
I wonder what Whyte will do with 90million cans? Melt them down and turn them into frames?Further orders were made against Rich Energy, which are:
- An court injunction has been granted, preventing Rich Energy from infringing Whyte Bikes’ copyright in their stag logo. The effect of this is that Rich Energy will not be able to use the stag logo on energy drinks or on any other products; this will take effect on the 18th of July.
- Rich Energy requested a three month stay of this injunction. The court refused this, granting them a three week stay only.
- Rich Energy have been ordered to deliver all infringing products to Whyte Bikes or, if they’d prefer, can destroy the items or render them non-infringing. This must be completed by the 1st of August.
- A court declaration has been made that Rich Energy’s stag head logo UK trademark is invalid. This takes effect on the 18th of July.
- Rich Energy has been ordered to disclose to ATB Sales (Whyte Bikes) the total UK and global sales to date of cans of Rich Energy featuring the offending logo, as well as the total sums received from these sales.
- Rich Energy have been ordered to pay costs of £35,416 to Whyte Bikes within 14 days of the court date.
- If Rich Energy and Whyte Bikes can’t agree on damages for copyright infringement, the court will assess it at a later hearing.
- Rich Energy can go to the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal these orders, with any such application or application for a continuation of their three week stay being submitted before the 18th of July. Formal sign-off of these orders by Judge Melissa Clarke is scheduled for this coming Monday.

Well, if Haas aren't embarrassed by them now, when....?
Don't see how Haas can come out of this untarnished in some fashion now.
They are tarnished... and who suffers when a team is tarnished..? Their sponsor. The only people to lose out really are RE.Don't see how Haas can come out of this untarnished in some fashion now.
As a team, they're doing perfectly well and I doubt will have any issues finding a new sponsor. I don't think it will be RE.

Possibly the only ray of sunlight for Williams is that they didn't land Rich Energy as a sponsor.
Have you ever seen a Rokit phone? So, there is now a court order preventing their use of the stag logo in the UK after July 18th, and they must provide full disclosure of their financial arrangements including those with Haas F1. This could get interesting...

Rokit... Apparently the phones do exist but are surprisingly slow for a 2019 smartphone. Enough said.
I think Rokit are a slightly different case in that they are all about future 5G and creating awareness for the brand for the future rather than flog something now, even though they do have product available. I would imagine they are banking on being acquired by one of the bigger companies at some point.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
