Nearly 6 seconds off the pace...
He can blame the car for the first 4 seconds of that. The last 2 were his. Russell underlined that fact.
It's interesting that we have a team here that can ONLY fight with themselves. P18? That's just a pipe dream for both these guys.

It's also very ominous for Kubica.
How many races do we give him before he is replaced by Latifi? (Presuming he has enough super licence points)ChocolateFrog said:

In reality I think he can blame the car. Both drivers have said the cars slide and snap.

FYI she was being filmed the whole time by a Netflix crew.
Given the This is Sunderland and now Williams it might be best to say no to them in future!Deesee said:
Hamilton pole by at least 2/10ths....
Will we see a 1.20 or better pole time, I think so..
McLaren and Hass have both showed decent long run pace, I expect to see these head the midfield.
Good work - posted around a week ago, and about the only post not to say Ferrari winning (and many saying Lecler also beating Vettel). Will we see a 1.20 or better pole time, I think so..

Just as a reminder of the 2018 Q3 session:
Vettel was a full 0.674 seconds behind Hamilton and Max was only 0.041 seconds behind Vettel.
The results of the season certainly didn't reflect those numbers.
I wouldn't get too despondent and write 2019 off as boring or a Mercedes walk-over just yet.

I hear what people are saying about it not being a representative track and last year proved that but I really think Mercedes will dominate the season now; I reckon the twitchy car is designed in and will help their performance on the narrower/street tracks where they were not so strong last year.
I also think the gap is biggger this year in real terms - it was 7 tenths between Mercedes and Ferrari last year and it is 7 tenths this, but the pole lap last year was a 1:21:1 vs 1:20.5 this - so as a proportion of the lap time it’s a bigger gap.
I hope I am wrong.

Just started watching qualifying..not seen the results so this is a live programme for me
Glad they kept the music when they go through the track and drivers..reminds me of mortal kombat
Heres hoping for a good quali and excellent race tomorrow..not bothered about crashes its all about the overtaking and wheel to wheel racing.

I just finished watching qualifying in full. It strikes me that the Mercedes cars look like they need so much driving! They are literally steering to go in a straight line, every tiny bump and imperfection in the track appears to move the car and has to be compensated for with constant steering input.
If you watch them driving, the effort both drivers are making is intense. I've never seen anything quite like it in modern F1. It's obviously working though, they have embraced stiffness and rigidity in the extreme and found an advantage.
All through testing we were commenting on how smooth and tidy some of the cars looked, and now Mercedes rock up with a car that looks like it's having a fit but locks out the front grid
I swear the car they had at testing was not so frantic. Valterri and Lewis must be knackered.
