Ah - good shout. And yes - definitely a good press conference. Feel sorry for Hulk - 170 races with no podiums - with idiots like Stroll managing it. As said before - if my prediction is correct I hope he finds a drive.

Hulk to Haas - its got to be?.. Might be interesting with him along side K.Mag (remember 'that' interview - when they got a bit bhy?)

However I also seem to recall Danny Ric. saying a few choice words over the team radio about Ocon too - I can't see that being an interteam-bro-mance waiting to happen either.

Couldn’t agree more. Desperately wanted it to work out for him. It’s hardly the ‘record’ you want to leave F1 with is it!

Why on earth does anyone rate HULK in F1? Completely below average, his record speaks for itself and to cap it all off, he ponces around with those stupid toy dogs.

Beats his team mate over a season more often than not, consistent delivery of all important WCC points.

Missing out on the lotus seat in 2013, was the kicker imo, he never considered for a ‘top’ drive again, height and weight paid to that at the time.

I like Barcelona as a track. The only reason it's usually such a procession is because the teams all know it so well from testing, so there are no unknowns there.
Testing IMO should take place at a track which is not in the current F1 calendar.
I agree, but it's hard to find a fully kitted out circuit that can handle a full F1 contingent for testing just sitting there, only to be used once a year.

And near enough to Europe.

That said, Istanbul might still be close enough to spec.
Sepang is further away but weather predictable.

Jerez and Magny Cours - need updates?

Now that they can all drive any circuit they want to, any time they like in the simulator, I don't think it matters as much as it used to.

Would the Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans work? Apart from the weather ...

There are a lot of FIA Grade 1 circuits that could be used. If we're looking for winter sun in Europe at a circuit that doesn't currently host a GP, then any of the following could potentially be used as-is:

Estoril
Jerez
Motorland Aragon
Valencia
Mugello
Imola
Istanbul

I could see that changing if liberty succeed in turning testing into a popular live TV show. The sky coverage was pretty good this year.

If it's popular enough I guess they could find money to pay for the venue as a dedicated test circuit. so long as it's a reasonable length and has at least one fast straight and some twisty bits then there are endless circuits that could be tidied up enough for F1 testing in Europe.

Wherever the test might be moved to it cannot be further than an overnight van drive from the UK & it must be warm & dry (otherwise there's no point leaving Barcelona). There's continuous van traffic between the UK & the circuit carrying new bits & if it takes 24 hours & a customs delay to get the parts delivered the tests become useless.

Getting parts out of the UK in time could be challenging this winter!

We'll end up having to test at a wet and windy Donington Park in the depths of winter, just to enable availability of parts.

Portimao has been sat there for a while pretty .uch for this exact purpose.

Wonder where Hulk will end up?
