But dirty air, following in traffic...

RedBull v Ferrari is closer than it should be.

Red Bull bringing new PU, will Ferrari react?

Safety car negates race pace...

Expect to see Renault and McLaren skinny and aero led, Red Bull need the downforce..

(The Achilles heel of the Renault is the mgu k)
Hmmm... 3 races on this track so far, and 6 safety cars smile

Pretty much my original point going back a few pages- it Azerbaijan, all bets are off.

But nonetheless, even after a last minute safety car, and some of the top cars strategies being destroyed as a result of multiple safety cars, and a Renault or McLaren going hell for leather on the right tyres, there will still be enough top cars ahead of them to fill up the podium before they get there.

I'll make you deal though, if a Renault or McLaren sees the podium on Sunday, I'll change my name on here to TheDeuce_WasWrong until the following race. You only have to do the same if at least one of them fails to see the podium wink
Where’s the shaky hand emoji!

Your on, non top 5 car on the poduim.

Some how I might have the wrong side of the bet here, but not like like guy on reddit how had to shoey a boot of his own urine...
I had said specifically a Renault or a Williams... But you're being very brave to take the bet at all, so fine, any non RB, Ferrari or Merc (top 6) car on the podium is the deal. If anyone else gets there, you win. If they don't.. I win.

It's going to make the race even more exciting than I thought biggrin
Agreed top 5 though, I get Gasly...

Williams on a podium? That would be quite something! I think that would need a full on Olivier Panis type race.

That's betting against what I think is possible. He's not as bad a driver as has been shown this season so far, so at some point he will become much more competitive.

But if it makes you happy, then fine. Although if Gasly does end up on the podium, your victory will be a hollow one wink

Very best of luck to you come Sunday loser

I really wish people would take a bit of time to edit the quotes down to something sensible. Getting three posts per screen when the new reply is one sentence is ridiculous.

Looking forward to this one I think the race is going to be interesting, especially if it's windy as the 2019 cars are apparently very sensitive to cross winds....

Fair point.

I just wanted to keep all the details of the wager together... Important stuff to be clear on wink

I think the first few laps will be carnage with the young drivers on the grid, I think Vettel with crash into someone trying to make up places if he doesn’t qualify on pole.

I have an odd number in my skybet account and I felt like burning money

It's worth a punt if only for the fun of it. I doubt it will come good, to the extent that I think the odds could be more generous. I'd like it if you won, but probably not as much as you.

Your battery needs charging.

Any man betting on Williams this year can scarcely afford to charge a phone battery smile

I know that it will take 10 cars being wiped out to get both Williams in the points but fortune favours the brave and all that.

I will charge it at work, Won’t cost me a thing then so I can use the money saved to carry on making stupid bets

Money where my mouth is, so to speak...

Good luck with the double Williams points scoring, it's probably the only race where it could happen.

Being between buildings and enclosed within barriers, I'd be surprised if there was much opportunity for cross winds.

There have been the odd oddities in F1: Panis winning at Monaco, Herbert winning the British GP, Maldonado winning in Spain all spring to mind. What would a tenner on any of those won you? Worth the odd silly bet as silly things can happen!

There's some sense in that, most drivers have only a split-second to avoid an incident in front of them and often get caught up in it, whereas the Williams duo are blessed with ample time to thread their way through the debris.

Yep. They simply have to pick their way through the carnage of the 8 wrecked cars to the front of the pack. Then having unlapped themselves, repeat it and unlap themselves again. Then catch up the remaining 10 cars once more and overtake 2 of them. scratchchin
