When Red Bull used the Mini pickup conversions with the giant can on the back, any trace of Red Bull branding had to be removed from the car when they were sold on as plain silver cars.

Saw one of them in Bracknell yesterday! Didn't think they still used them.

So Staxoweb or whoever have spent the day creatively changing logos as much as possible. Typically:

https://richenergy.com/

I doubt Billy-Bob did this as he must have been tied up at the courts all day fighting other battles - all a bit last minute. Still it's a start, albeit after that horse (or deer) had bolted through the huge stable door. Why this couldn't have been done weeks ago and an amicable agreement reached with Whyte I don't know. Mind you, there's other people now if the fray and they aren't fussed about logo infringement or any company that sells unicorn tears energy drink, they are seeking a single individual.

Willy, if you're reading this, how's your sleeping patterns at the moment. Maybe you need to lay off the energy drink a bit?

I can’t see RB going for Haas at all - mainly as they’re on the grid together and would be very unsporting - anyone can see Haas had fk all to do with the RE fk up apart from a little bit of bad diligence.

They aren’t. Some posters are speculating at best.

I don't know how picky the courts are about logos remaining in social media accounts after a judgement. But obviously things like Twitter are loaded with past photos and the Rich Energy one has scooped out a few, but many, many still exist on there:

Typically:

https://twitter.com/rich_energy/status/11479989798...

Isn't it better to wipe the lot and start again?

Perhaps they could sort out https://richenergy.com/privacy-policy/ to at least fill in the literal blanks and delete-as-applicables... smile

Ruddy hell this is moving fast again.

Staxoweb might have just done their last job for anyone, let alone Rich Energy:

It's the old double pincer movement!

What a shambles that privacy policy is
“Section 3.12

Optional element. Use this form of provision to identify and provide relevant information about other categories of personal data that you may process.

Section 3.13

Optional element.”

And it goes on...

My bet is that he didn't pay for that Privacy Policy template.

TBH - he has so many problems breaking the Data Protection Act must be pretty low down the list.

When do we hear what happened in court today?

When a gdpr fine is based on your gross global profit then RE have nothing to worry about.

Revenue/turnover, not profit.

This is why it's stupid to drive awareness of your product by pissing off your competitors. RB's legal team would have no qualms looking into RE's company structure/website etc and referring anything not quite correct (or in this case, massively amateur and unacceptable) to the relevant authorities or whoever else may find it interesting. Also, as it's now a pretty hot media story journalists will be digging and looking for further issues to bring to light.

It's quite shocking that someone so useless managed to convince people to write checks and constructed a scheme that would influence the spending of tens of millions in terms of sponsorship and investment. He must have some talent I guess - the talent to bullsh*t!

As a bit of an indication to the lengths Red Bull have gone to in the past, a chap repainted a old slot car (not Scalextric but similar) into red bull livery. A fantasy livery, but accurate in terms of logos.

He then tried to sell it on eBay listed as a "red bull such and such" (i think it was a Ferrari)

He said to me that within 24 hours he had a legal email from Red Bull asking him, politely but very firmly, to remove it. As he had no right to use their IP.

They take it rather seriously it seems!
They do indeed, RB sponsor, or did sponsor the KTM MotoX team, but don't allow KTM to use the RB logo on the factory replica plastics or graphic kits they sell to the public.
