Season 2 does nothing to dispel the theory that RIC has the personality of a 12 year old and the driving to match.
One of those 12 year olds that performs overtakes in places generally considered to be impossible?

Assuming you're not 12.. would you say his driving is worse than your own on the basis of your assessment of it?

I think his personality is great, can't think of a current driver I'd rather hang out with more if I got the chance.

I think he's an average F1 driver though.

I’m only up to the mercedes episode but bizarrely he comes out of this looking alright so far, artistic license?

The mayhem that went on with him on Twitter (and with Whyte Bikes). An absolute goon.

Ah deuce, like most of the drivel you post, assumption is everything.

On the basis that I’ve never gone head to head against RIC in equal machinery, I’m feeling confident and say he’s worse. It would be nice to find out mind you.

However, an assessment against his peers may prove more fruitful, the same way most people asses skill. You do understand that you don’t have to be able to better someone to be able to give verdict on their skill don’t you?

Only last week most people called out Deontay Wilder as the one trick pony poor world champion he was. I suspect quite a number of them wouldn’t last 5 minutes in the ring with him but there you go.

Understand?

I have to agree. For the casual fan, he appears to have left due to poor performance from HAAS. Netflix can't follow all stories all year and sadly the revealing climax of this particular story was missed.

Still won't do him any good, it's not as if the drink he hyped is available to buy..

All the more strange they (almost) played him to be the sensible one in the sorry affair, no?

It’s not like Netflix to shy away from controversy, I can only think it was written the way it’s shown (again so far, I’m only half way through) to increase the narrative of Haas’ jeopardy at that part of the season.

I understand. But I still think you overreached your own level of reason when you compared DR's driving to that of a 12 year old. Even a st F1 driver has the reactions of an 18 year old and the judgement of a 30 year old.. otherwise they don't get to F1.

Just for clarification... Are you really saying that in a single seater, same car, you think you would beat DR? If so, I won't argue the point.

Or are you claiming a right to speculate even though you can't do the job yourself? - I've been called out several times for that sort of behaviour, by... Someone..

Toto comes out of it head and shoulders above the other Team Principles. Totally driven yet still personable and never criticises the drivers in a public forum, and it seems he can speak atleast 3 languages fluently.

Poor form from Horner the way he was mocking Gasly IMO.

Compare Toto and his methods to the others... He's motivated a winning team that personally want to win. An army that cares about the fight and takes pride in it. Just goes to show how much people give when you take your foot off them and lift them up. Ferrari should watch this series.

Clare Williams asking how could it happen that they missed the start of testing after they'd already missed it.

I'd suggest asking those questions a month before and keep asking them, she seems totally disconnected from reality. Like a silent partner that's suddenly found themselves running the show.

Her only saving grace is that they'd paid Paddy Lowe what I presume was a shed load of money to deliver the car and he failed.

Complete failure in leadership and management.

Enjoyed the first two or three episodes so far...although the sound effects are a little OTT.

It's entertaining fluff , but the hyperactive editing and silly sound effects grate, but not as much as the portentous insights of the absolutely bleedin' obvious from Will Buxton.

I've not read the thread (in case of spoilers...) but having watched three episodes, I now know what the "F" in F1 stands for!

It is a bit odd - it could be that they just didn't want to get involved with the off-the-track stuff and give the idiot yet more airtime. As TheDeuce says, the drink still isn't available (and was utter bullst - the idea that it was a somehow healthy energy drink because it uses 'mineral water' rather than being full of awful stuff like all of them).

I mean for fks sake. His accounts are late, the racing team company was dissolved in January. The whole thing smells like a weird scam and he's moved onto bike racing now. I can't see that ending well either.

Lots of pressure on Gasly from the pit radio, Horner mocking him was a bit off he knows how to drive but clearly he feels better in the Toro Rosso than the RB car (and the RB team)

I think season one was a better series than this it seemed to go in to more depth with the drivers covered and showed the human side of the spectacle, (Grosjean's battle with himself as an example) the new one feels like the teams/drivers are now more aware and ready for the cameras, the first one felt more "real" to me.

Gunter was a star of the show again but the show lacked things like the "rock star" moment of S1 plus the constant needle between irritable and Horner...that was great to watch.

I’m annoyed that they gave William Storey so much air, he’s a chancer and a fantasist.

I am increasingly skeptical about Gunter Steiner’s management style. I wish he were playing it up for Netflix but we’re lead to believe that he isn’t.

Albon's mum jailed for fraud back in 2012, never knew that. Wonder how much of it paid for his career.
I had no idea about this either, he did come across very well in that episode - Had me rooting for him despite having an "interesting" mother.
