There's something about her, I can't put my finger on it. Walking around the place talking to people nailing the car together And she wants to be the staff's "older sister" or "mate" rather than their leader. And as above she's in danger of Williams becoming a museum to past glories.
I work with a guy whose not my manager, but manages staff I interact with daily. He NEVER disciplines them or pulls them up when they fall short. Sure he has great connection with his staff, they probably have a great laugh. But they get away with bloody murder. And it's frustrating since it slows everyones day down.
There's no authority to CW. Williams ironically NEED a Horner to come in and take the team forward in a more focused way. They need to spend a LOT to close the gap. There's almost certainly brilliant people working there. But they are un-coordinated.
Problem is, whose available?

Of course she might not be doing it off camera either, but my point is we should take it all with a pinch of salt.
I think the only moment we saw CW come close to putting her foot down was with Lowe and the unfinished car, she stood in the garage and blanked him. Again I think this is the wrong thing to do, if she has serious issues with him then the priority when arriving would have been to get the guy into an office and have it out. Or the proper way to have handled it is to have had regular update meetings with Lowe, realised the car wasn't going to make it, prepared your contingency and set Lowes expectations as to how long he can expect to remain an employee and have that open conversation. It shouldn't be coming to a head in a garage with other people about and an awkward Lowe shuffling about.

This unfortunately is very much the default mode of operation in many big corporations, especially those which are too big to fail and whatever happens they will keep floating. And those who are against it are seen as troublemakers stuck in the old bigoted days. Maybe she doesn't want to be part of the old world, run by men - as this seems to be a bit of a theme with her too (not based on the Netflix series but rather based on the years she's been active in F1).coldel said:

Hard to explain why, but I did not think season 2 was as good as one. But I am very pleased that someone has committed to giving the lower teams a high level of exposure, regardless of their current position in the pecking order.
I hope there is a season 3.
They had already begun filming this season. Then, I assume, stopped due to CV.. god knows what they're able to do now with the new 'team bubbles' limitations. My guess is they'll be cracking on somehow though.I hope there is a season 3.

Regarding the 'gateway progress meetings', what do you propose it to be called?
It's common in engineering project management to have a timing plan which has key milestones/gateways that need to be hit to keep a project on plan. At each one you have a progress meeting/review.
I would have expected the problems to have been known and raised before they started bolting the thing together. (maybe they were, who knows).
