I'm planning on going to the Historic Monaco GP next year - all grandstands seem to be the same price, any recommendations of which one to choose?

Monaco Historics is a great meeting. I can recommend Casino Square for qualifying and Tabac K1 for race day. You can see screen well from both stands.

I followed your advice and booked Casino for Saturday, and Tabac K1 for Sunday. Flights and accommodation also now booked, looking forward to it.

Historique tickets arrived on Christmas Eve.
One thing I'm unsure about having never been before, is Friday just wander around for free?

Yes Friday is a wander round day. For refreshments at Casino square walk out the stand and go back up the hill and turn left there's a great little cafe there on the left. At K1 there are little kiosks nearby or a Spar next to the start finish line, It's a great weekend ;-)

Aword of caution if you are thinking to get a transfer from NCE airport to MC rather than use an excellent train service avoid gettransfer.com as a plague. We had to wait more than an hour after we landed and nearly missed our return flight to LHR as the driver decided to turn up 40 minutes late on the way back. Never seen anything like that before, bunch of scamming clowns. And breathe ranting

Our plan is to hire a car in Nice on the Monday morning after the Historique then drive to Lake Garda for the Mille Miglia. Return to Nice end of that week.

I’ve been to the Historic GP a couple of times. I’ve always got tickets in the T grandstands and loved that because you can access the paddock down on the quay.

Do you get the same access to the quay if you’re in other grandstands such as K?

We are in K1 on Saturday and T1 on Sunday for a bit of variety.

From Nice to Monaco, it's always worth popping in to the helicopter transfer office (turn left out of the airport exit). If they're not busy they will discount the normally ~£150 per person down to as little as £50 smile The trip is about 12 minutes, straight down the coast line flying low.

Not guaranteed but always worth checking wink

We've got Tabac and chicane at rear of pits for Saturday, final corner and Casino square for Sunday. Tickets are discounted if you book both days as well
