Austria is a similar length circuit to Zandvoort, and Aero has managed to save 5 seconds a lap (and at altitude) since 2014! Never mind 1985...

These things will be biblical at Zandvoort, it could well be the shortest timed race in F1/GP history.
Well, nobody complains about Monza , and its 2003 GP was 73 minutes ...!
Heh no complaints from me battling at raw speed is spot on. Imo..

That's genius, and it makes a huge difference. You need to send a tt @F1official and @BernieCE with them two pictures.

Like what you’re thinking. Just needs a couple of ramps and a DRS zone to allow the cars to jump over the crossing tracks. In the interest of safety of course.

A tunnel after the first corner dipping under the cross overs, or as the track is clockwise, just give way to the right, they’ll be stretched out enough.

If f1 want closer racing there you go..

Race of champions have a tunnel come cross over bridge, when I was at Wembley for it they built it in a few days.

Does anyone have any French F1 fan friends? I wonder if national pride (and the fact they're in part paying for this farce) is enough to blind them to the fact it's the worst GP on the calendar?

I'm in Paris later this year, awkward question to ask of guys I have to work with for a few weeks though... biggrin

Maybe I could tell them it's my favourite GP, and judge from their reaction how serious they think I'm being scratchchin

I thought Bernie owned Paul Ricard but it appears it might be his ex-wife!

There are residuals flowing to BE whatever the structure biggrin

Personally I would put a small water feature into the chicane to make it more interesting.

Meanwhile just enjoy the chateau minuty

No, just keep the crossovers.

Would spice up the racing.

In regards to the crap circuit, it’s actually not bad, just really really tough to watch on TV.
No, it's actually crap in every way a track can be crap, that's the circuit itself and the track, which other track in Europe confiscates drinks at the gate, soft drinks as well as beer. the food makes Silverstone look like the Savoy Grill, massive queues for everything with prices to match, no atmosphere, terrible place and every race is a bore fest, never again for us.

ETA

We went to Paul Ricard in 2018, in 2019 we went to the Red Bull Ring, better in every respect, very well organised both inside and outside the track, no queues, decent food, a great atmosphere and good racing all weekend, I wouldn't even consider France again, there are better tracks all over Europe.
