Well, it would appear they have (RP) have been running red bull philosophy’s in the Merc wind tunnel too. I’m sure that had no bearing on the blueprints for the parts being handed over, quite a way to prepare for the budget cap.. just take the IP.
If there’s two guys that don’t muck about is Toto and Lawerence..it’s like having a pair of velociraptors in the paddock.
It's quite a twist going in to this season isn't it? Didn't see this one coming If there’s two guys that don’t muck about is Toto and Lawerence..it’s like having a pair of velociraptors in the paddock.
And unlike most that is learned from pre-season, this is a real story. They're definitely going to benefit this season from this new.. umm.. arrangement.

No funds to develop a car 18 month in the future, no problem..

Indeed... you’ve got to look at the other teams who blocked the WCC money when F India became racing point.

From a different perspective.. have Mercedes just helped RP knock their new customer, McLaren off a 4th WCC finish this year? Potentially gonna screw up the McLaren v Renault battle for 4th I was looking forward too this year!No funds to develop a car 18 month in the future, no problem..

I bet Danny Ric is feeling a little depressed if it does pan out that way.

First podium this yr, Dani or Lance
(Btw the force india/Jordan/racing Aston is my team)!!!!
I don't have a problem with the Racing. so long as they are playing within the same rules as everybody else.
For instance nobody appears to have stopped Williams cosying up to Merc and doing the same thing...except Williams.
I'm all for "customer teams" running last years designs anyway. Hopefully it keeps the team healthy financially and introduces more "fighting" up the front half of the grid.

Can’t remember the last testing I have seen with so much running with decent reliability and so few red flags!
It'll be a very different story this time next year- looking forward to that! For day one of testing today has been superb, much less predictable than I guessed.

Not counting Giovanazzi, all the cars are within 1.5 seconds of the fastest lap and (I think) between the drivers all the cars have done 100 laps or more.
Looking good so far.
• yes I know it's testing and lap times don't matter, but for day 1 it's a good show.
Williams are faster than they were at qualy 2019 already. Looking good so far.

Take home today:
- Racing Point - fk me.
- Ferrari - not in the mix today, wonder if there is something they're not happy with?
- Alfa and HAAS also not in the mix.. (see above?)
- Williams - clearly better than last year, probably still at the back but progress IS progress, and it looks maybe enough to grab a few points this season?
- Max - 168 laps, insane.
- Renault - three times today matched without exceeding faster laps set by McLaren, seems like they have a little more than they wish to show just yet.
