Is he wrong? I mean, he worked for McLaren for 10 years. Not sure which 10 though...
I did see that, and 100 percent he knows his stuff but by stable turn in he means no understeer. A good solid front end.

Here's a few links about race car setup, scroll down to toe and you'll see what I mean.

That's true for single seater and rwd mid engine sports cars.

Pinky promise that's correct I've experimented with all types of front toe on mid engine sports prototypes. Too much toe out is wild for changing direction in a straight line (not nice) but awesome in the twisties.
Interesting articles. The last one talks about castor and says that +ve castor makes the car more stable in a straight line. I always thought it was the opposite but I am by no means an expert. Anyone care to comment?

More positive caster is more like a shopping trolley wheel, self centering forces are stronger so the car wants to be straight.

Just letting everyone know he wants to be known as Sabrina from now on and wants to thank Ferrari for their support through the difficult transition period. #dareutosackme

I was told awhile ago that he would be in a Red Bull Valkyrie at Le Mans in 2021 but as that has been royally flushed down the crapper maybe it’s a retirement announcement?

Whatever the reason for the press conference - if it's unscheduled it's to address something unexpected, which is never good at the start of an F1 season..

Binotto and Seb appearing at an FIA scheduled press conference does not sound quite as dramatic.

Is it scheduled or unscheduled? I missed the start of the day commentary...

I see it's officially 'scheduled' on the F1 site now, but then it would be once it was announced.

Will be interesting to hear of this is something driver or team related ( or both ).

Maybe a sabbatical / year off but not leaving the team.

Thanks.

There's a conference involving Sainz and Ricciardo earlier, so not sure what to read into this really. Do they normally do press conferences during testing?

Just as a slight off-topic thought, I've just spotted a link to the official F1 2019 racing game on the F1 web-site. I wonder how much work it'll be for the developers to build DAS into the game for F1 2020? Will gaming wheel manufacturers now have to introduce a push/pull wheel? Is it worth it for 1 season, unless DAS makes it's way into other formulae?

Bored at work, me?

I’m going to be interested to see how Corona virus affects the season - I think it could end up being significant as more and more travel routes become unavailable. For example Monza to Milan is just 11 miles.

I don’t understand. Announcing and setting a time in advance is surely the very definition of a scheduled press conference? hehe

It would be a lot of work to build in the sliding function, the better quality gaming wheels already have all the variable force-feedback gubbins already highly developed - bet no one wants to start re-designing that for the sake of allowing the wheel to slide back and fourth two!

However, many such steering wheels also have mappable scroll wheels on the front/back, which could be employed to achieve the same adjustment for the sake of making the game 'complete'. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see the developers update the game, it loses a lot of value as a yearly game release if the cars aren't accurate to real life.
