The Official F1 2021 silly season *contains speculation*
Discussion
Can’t help thinking Monaco are being terribly optimistic, but must be a total nightmare for anyone in mainland Europe to be planning anything right now.
Presumably they can get enough vaccines together for the local population (40k) and the volunteer marshals, but it’s still one hell of a risk given the case numbers in France at the moment.
In other news, the first consignment of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine just arrived in Bahrain. What chance that a thousand or so doses find their way into the arms of the F1 team personnel, on the last day of testing?

Zero, since they’ve just turned down the offer of a vaccine from Bahrain.Presumably they can get enough vaccines together for the local population (40k) and the volunteer marshals, but it’s still one hell of a risk given the case numbers in France at the moment.

With Fernando recovering from a cycling faceplant, we may well see Kvyat in one or more races at the start of the season.Do we think that he and Todt Jr went round all the teams where neither driver has had covid yet?

Nah, Alonso will be in the car. His injury won’t stop him testing and racing.
https://joesaward.wordpress.com/2021/03/02/f1-the-...I know he is marmite, but Joe raises a point.
How will Fernando give feedback to the team - and blame everyone else over the open access pit comms for stuff - if his jaws are wired together?
Towards the end of last season I think Kvyat upped his game, almost like his career depended on it.
You can see with the Red Bull Driver Rejection Scheme - all the hoofing out of the car, continual 1 season(if that) driver deals and "next race could be your last" mentality - how some drivers could make decisions like their career was in the balance for the worse in some races.
I'm not defending Daniel as the next big thing here, he was shown up by a resurgent Gasly last year, but the system in RB is not a nurturing place unless your name is Max. They listened and tried harder with Albon, but with him it was still a case of too much too soon.
Perhaps with Kvyat it was too little too late.

The only bit I disagree with is "the system in RB is not a nurturing place unless your name is Max" ... If Max had been a duffer he's have been out as quickly as any of the others. Maybe back to TR after a season if he was lucky but he lived up to expectations despite some wildness and has been worth nurturingTowards the end of last season I think Kvyat upped his game, almost like his career depended on it.

Kvyat got almost as many races as Albon and (had to look this up) Christian Klein!
