This has been managed in a clever way. Italy and ferrari need an Italian in F1 (and why not).
If Shumi Jr had gone to alfa to displace Giovanazzi it may have lost him goodwill in tifosi land.
Hamilton flying high for the uk so sadly another brit can take a bullet no problem at somewhere like williams (hope not as they dont deserve a perez and his money)

Gastly was always a shoe in at AT. Why some suggested he went back to reb bull is baffling.
Albon should go to AT and drive happy.
The honda heart throb guy should do a year of friday practice sessions to get up to speed.
Not wishing Kvyat out of there but he has had many seasons. Another guy like the ex haas's that could do with winning some races somewhere before its too late.

Either Hulkenburg or Perez need to be in Red Bull as soon as possible I'm afraid.

But for it to make a difference, Red Bull needs to change its development philosophy. They ought to be developing their car for the second driver. If it is a given that Verstappen is a genius/driving god and he finds himself driving a car good enough for the 'normal' driver to win with, then he's going to win the championship.

Russell definitely confirmed at Williams now https://wtf1.com/post/williams-have-confirmed-that... so the Perez taking his seat stuff was made up or didn't work out.

He isn't but, well, it's pretty much foregone from all chat from all sides. I'd be absolutely stunned if he didn't do at least one more season with Merc, because the options are retire (at the top of his powers before getting to 8WDC) or move to.... who?

I think we'll hear about Albon post Imola; there's a pretty strong line in the sand saying he had this and the Portugal GP to secure his seat. We know how Portugal went, so it's last chance saloon. I can't see him changing his form that dramatically so either out or back to AT.... Hulk or Perez @ RB would be good to see if Marko can swallow his pride and allow a non-RB graduate in there. It's the logical step for the team, both are proven quality and would probably be more consistent than either of the recent no2's.

He isn't yet. Is it cash or something else that's stopping the contract from being signed given how much both sides keep saying a new deal is a formality.

exactly, hes not going to walk with 7 WDC when he is almost guaranteed to win next year's too.

Will be deal length, payment and other bits holding it up

After his comments earlier in the year I think he's just delaying the awkward moment at which it's announced that he's taking £50m+ next year biggrin

Anyway, done deal. Mercedes would pay him double what he's asking for if they had no other option. He would do it for free if he had no other option. The record smashing titles next year are more valuable for the following decades of both parties than any single years lump of cash.

It's clearly evident that he needs a new manager. Craig Pollock would be perfect.

Doesn't Hamilton manage himself? If it's not working out that would be a really awkward conversation.
