Nurburgring, and instead of a qualifying sprint race have a one lap shootout on the Nordschleife to decide pole position.

Oh, and someone else has entered the Merc driver possibility of driving for them, as the engineers and management are impressed... Lando.. a driver contract may have already been signed with Toto..

Yeah... I mean say what?

Seems about the most unlikely signing on the grid, given mercedes already have their own home grown next big thing British kid increasingly impatient to get in the car, along with probably 75% of F1 fans.

Maybe they want them both.

George Russell and Lando Norris dream team for Mercedes from 2023 onwards?

Almost as unlikely as Max going to Mercedes smile

Given the persistent rumours that Mercedes may wish to scale down their investment and INEOS now owning a decent size chunk in the team they may want a double British lineup. It's not too big a stretch to say George in next year in place of Valtteri and then Lando in in place of Hamilton in 2024 or thereabouts?

Not a big stretch at all, although what about Ocon?

Still a Mercedes and Toto favourite. It’s certainly a possibility.

INEOS have their fingers in pies and territories across the world, I'd have thought unless a specific sub brand is being benefitted they'd want broader appeal. As shown with the defender thing going to france they aren't concerned with British flag waving.

I think Russell goes to Mercedes for 2022 replacing Bottas and another driver, probably Ocon, comes aboard when Hamilton retires.

Ocon is no longer under Toto and I dont think has done enough for that seat, I would love the Russell - Norris team up though

Ocon is beating a 2x WDC currently, so, I think he has done enough.

Also I believe Toto is still managing Ocon

Is this the same Ineos that buggered off to France with their fake Land Rover production?

Oh and by the way, Mercedes F1 made a profit again last year (despite of Covid and without using the furlough scheme).

I can imagine either of the current McLaren drivers ending up at Mercedes. Ocon will need to continue to deliver to stay in the frame.

Of course they did, but how many millions did the parent company have to put in for the F1 team to be able to report that 'profit'?
