Is it that bad?

I haven't seen any pictures or videos or stats. Every thing I read just says there is rain. So to me it just reads like they're being cowards for not letting them run, but from the comments here it seems quite bad so it's a sensible decision?

What is the latest? Is it definitely no quali today? Or are they still waiting to see before officially calling it off?

Nah, the F3 race got red flagged because cars went around on the straights, and it’s not stopped raining since. It’s a proper storm there.

Watching the state of the track on sky now. Fingers crossed we get quali today but right now it looks extremely unlikely.

lets hope it doesn't rain for the UK races as Silverstone has far worse drainage than Austria.

Brawn saying they'd kick F2 and Porsche tomorrow for F1 quali if required.

I’m usually the first to moan about the world’s best drivers not going out in the rain, but that was a fair call this morning. FP3 now officially binned, the long waiting game begins to see if they can find an hour at some point this afternoon when they can run a qualifying session. Otherwise, we’ll be back tomorrow morning.

Brawn reckons there may be a chance of FP3 tonight, quite happy with that is we get another super sunday

Presumably there's a real risk that binning it heavily in Sunday qualifying means you don't make the race at all.

Yeah, it was that bad during the F3 there was a crash on a straight due to zero visibility.

I'm usually the first to complain when they stop for rain or start behind the safety car. But the current weather is far too bad.

had the practice on yesterday and crofty was doom-speculating that we might not fit in qualli, ted kravitz quite patronizingly* reminded him that f1 is the event of the weekend and will come first...

  • and not the only time either, my mrs pointed out they seem to have given up trying to save crofty from the dilge he speaks. Change on the cards?scratchchin

Scrap it, I'd much rather they get far less testing time so the qualifying and race are unknowns for them

I really, really hope so. I am totally fed up with having to mute the TV a lot of the time whilst he's shouting.

Looking at the radar image on Meteo Blue, it looks like Qually this afternoon could be 50/50. The worst is passing and becoming more intermittent showers.

Fingers crossed - wet qualifying always throws up anomalies and sorts the wheat from the chaff.
