Well, you won't be getting one from me. Despite being robbed today, Hamilton looks like a greater driver and person than ever.

Yup, Max may have had the result gift wrapped and handed to him. But Lewis was on a different level today. Both during and after the race.

Nice to see an inferior car winning the championship, though.
I am not sure it was over the entire season.

Or perhaps you mean Mercedes winning the constructors title?

Anyone else get the impression we have just watched Lewis’s final f1 race?

No. But if he had won today, quite possibly.

No, quite the opposite if Mercedes think they have a competitive car next season.

yes If anything I think the perceived injustice of this season will increase his hunger to win more championships. I wonder if they've also seeded a determination to get Russell and the team into a state where Redbull/Verstappen aren't winning championships after he has finally retired.

I hope you are all proved correct.

The injustice tonight must be extremely difficult to comeback from I’d imagine

Adrian Newey said after the race he thought that red bull had the faster car over the year.

Indeed. Newey stated RB had the best car overall.

Even the most hateful of Lewis detractors surely couldn't have fault his attitude after the race today? Remarkable composure and grace, I've honestly no idea how he managed it.

My guess is, as a racer, he knew with 100% certainty that he and his team did absolutely everything right today, and that 99 times out of 100, his race after passing Verstappen would easily have resulted in a win.

No, but I don’t think he’ll win that 8th championship either. In the coming years Max might, but Hamilton won’t.

I wouldn't be too sure - the margin was extremely small, there may not always be a Latifi.

I think he want's a shot under the new regs, this years car was just last years with a ribbon on.
Merc have tipped all of their money into next years so it could be 2014 all over again.

And Hamilton was robbed today, I think even most Max fans would accept that, even if they think Max deserved the title over the course of the season.

It will be interesting to see how Lewis reacts to this. I think he could retire, on the basis that F1 now appears, almost beyond doubt, to have become the 'Drive to Survive' show. Or, he could come back, if anything, even more determined than before, to effectively right a wrong. I hope he does the latter.

My guess is he will shrug it off, come back stronger.

Will Max get 8 though, given the rule makers seem to want to avoid someone becoming too dominant and ruining the show, and are willing to do lots of stuff to stop that?
