Yes perhaps Simon.

So how did it play out beforehand? Liberty briefs Massi as to their objective which is for Max to be WC? Just like that.

Did he balls it up because he had no opportunities to help until the Latifi crash?

Don't get me wrong, I want this to be the case and that the truth comes out but it sounds very far fetched to me.

It was fairly obvious that liberty wanted max as champ for the DTS new audience and a “thrilling’ end to the season. I am not suggesting anyone was ever explicitly told to manufacture the results, but the leeway the max was given is there for all to see.

The Latifi crash was an opportune gift horse that masi jumped on and then managed very very badly, I am sure cleverer people than me could think of a way than a less obvious gift to max could have been given that would have achieved the same end result.

In the end though liberty got what they wanted, the young upstart as WDC a “thrilling” end to the year and plenty of column inches talking about F1

And it was at this point, it confirmed that F1 is no longer sport, just entertainment. Not watched a single race since. Pointless.

Sadly this is where I’m at with F1. Almost 4 decades of F1 and haven’t watched a race since. I scan my eyes over the news sometimes but it just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. It’s just a load of ‘canned’ excitement/razzmatazz with very little behind it apart from shysters and oil money.

Good news is there’s so much more to do on any given race weekend than sit in front of the tv for hours on end

That’s hardly controversial. Several of the current drivers refer to him as that.

Sounds credible, however disappointing for the usual schadenfreude addicted weirdos.

It is true. Most memorably Lando Norris, but several others, as well.
