Channel 4 are showing the race live today, so no need to watch then moan about Sky.
It will be the SKY coverage you get live.
Are channel 4 not doing their own commentry?

Nope, it’s a direct feed of the Sky coverage, presumably with all the Sky logos and references as an advert for the pay-TV provider, as part of the deal. You’ll be getting Crofty and Brundle on C4 live.

That's a shame, I'm hungover and not sure if I can deal with the screeching frown

Maybe 5 live then for those who don't like Crofty

Crofts highlight of the season was that last lap, says everything about his knowledge of F1

He doesn’t screech as much as I thought to be fair, the sky highlights on you tube only feature his shouty stuff, and in these short vids, no brundle.

To be fair on him, you'd probably spout some crap if you had to commentate on four hours of not much

Have you heard Sky’s new advert for the F1 season, wow. He is even shouting in an advert!

We have arrived at the Eve of the new season, and I am still not sure I can be arsed with it. I am giving very serious consideration to binning Sky F1, £216 a year to listen to that clown.

The problem then is the only option if I do choose to watch is Channel 4 and that’s means listening to Coultard defend every single thing Max and red bull do.

If it were me I would try and find a place to watch maybe in a foreign language for free, try and stream perhaps, I get the annoyance, he is a moron and a shouty moron at that and he totally ruins certain parts of races.

Quite why SKY continue to employ him suggests to me he is asked to do it by cretinous directors and producers.

I know Murray got excited and shouted a bit, but it somehow seemed bearable with him as you know it was just Murray getting excited, with this retard it just seems forced and he seems to think he is amazing.

Yes he really thinks he’s got a Brand going doesn’t he.
But you just know he’d turn on the same ‘excitement’ for 2 flies crawling up a window.

The thing with Murray was that you knew he was a genuine enthusiast and knowledgeable about may types of motor sport including motor bikes. Croft doesn't demonstrate the same passion. But, thinks shouting works !

"...the beak of Ayrton Senna's chicken..." - I loved Murray. He was "the excitement" sometimes in F1!

That was one of his most surreal ones! I loved Murry too.

How about this one:

"Look up there! That's the sky!"

Turning the tables a bit I caught Covid at Xmas and to treat myself I got the F1tv basic package so have been watching the archive, haven't even clicked on anything recent. A lot of it is not BBC and people like SImon Taylor did a world feed he has a voice like a drain hole but you get the footage at least

But for the BBC stuff my word James was a superb co commentator, he saw so much, and said the very least to add colour and insight. He was often criticised for picking on people like Patrese or de Cesaris or Arnoux, but with damn good reason, watch it back sand some of their driving was poor.

I had forgotten how much of a dick Eddie Cheever could be at being lapped too, he was a damn hothead!!

But you do get that smoother flow, and it somehow feels right, unlike this modern idiot who thinks shouting is the only way to add excitement, I have some sympathy with him at times as to me modern F1 has very little jeopardy, the carsa re so reliable and the tracks drivers etc, you would get races back then that would come to life at the end as cars brooke down or ran out of fuel, but really he does ruin the coverage so much

I used to feel sorry for Brundle, stuck in hot little portacabins, in hot little hell holes, with Croft blaring away for hours.

But after his attitude to the end of last season, I’m quite pleased for him. hehe

If his commentary during this week's testing is anything to go by, it looks like DRS has replaced track limits as his season topic. He seems to pick one thing and never stop prattling on about for every race. Oh joy!!!
