The trick is to use the standard F1 app Live Timing screen, at £2 a month, which has the 5 Live radio commentary. You can pause and restart this, to get it in sync with the TV picture.

F1 TV is actually really cool.

I have to say, Ben Edwards sounds a LOT like Crappy, and has some of the same idiosyncrasies, but is NOWHERE NEAR as obnoxious. He's able to turn it up & back it off, & not go ape-st for minutes on-end over nothing.

There are 4 channels + onboards: F1 Live, International, Tracker & Data. Unfortunately, F1 Live is the only channel without Crappy. That said, I briefly switch over to Tracker or Data, and either put up with Crappy for that bit, or just mute the sound.

The onboards are awesome! To watch a dedicated onboard of your choosing, and hear all the team communications is unreal. I had no idea they communicated so much per lap...

I can highly recommend F1 TV, and suggest anyone interested to go to the site & checkout everything you get, which includes: Race Analysis, Documentaries, Previous Seasons, Various Other Shows, F2 & F3.

It's really a bargain...

Except C4 have Eddie Jordan!! Back to Crofty - at one point he shouted "there is Lewis watching his brother on track"! So its not just the drivers he gets confused with!!

Completely agree. A Croft-free race was superb.

He has his supporters though. I responded to a youtube comment that said the Grand Prix was perfect and Croft was part of that by suggesting we could do without his constant screaming, and I got many comments in reply, the gist of them being that I should sod off and watch golf instead. I was amazed, I didn't realise anyone actually liked Croft, other than the handful of eccentrics who occasionally defend him here!

Nah, one of my friend's son thinks that Crofty is iconic... Granted, he's a 16 year old, but he's fanatic about F1 and all his friends think the same. It's because they are growing up with Crofty, so to them his voice is iconic, which I get it to a point. I did try to explain the difference to him once, but I'm not sure I did a good job.
