The guy cannot shut up for 5 seconds which does my head in. If nothing is going on it's ok to not speak. Wonder if he gets paid per word.
Ironically I find the Indycar commentary much better and less shouty (and their american!). Sure they get excited but only when there is a need to
Ironically Ben Edwards used to do champ cars for Eurosport in the Montoya era, and was highly technical and not shouty. Ironically I find the Indycar commentary much better and less shouty (and their american!). Sure they get excited but only when there is a need to
Coming back to Croft, "IT'S THE D. N. F. for the M. A. X." almost made me

Another bad week end for rent a mouth.
And what’s with Herbert?
“.....and here he comes onto the, sort of, start/finish straight, the DRS is, sort of, open; he, sort of, missed the apex, sort of, sort of, sort of............
FFS Johnny, shut up!
They all managed to share the "joke" about dusty track for a good 5 minutes of air time. Great commentating (not!)And what’s with Herbert?

For all those moaning about Croft, the commentator I was listening to was sure that the replay of Bottas crossing the line at the end of Q2 was a replay of Hamilton being timed out - even when a few seconds before, we’d seen a replay of Lewis beating the clock by about a second and the timing screens showed he made his lap. It took him three whole minutes before he acknowledged that LH had indeed made it into Q3.
Last time out in Mugello, it was well after the safety car had been deployed on the first lap, that he realised that the two Mercedes were not in the same order as they started the race, he’d spent half a lap commenting on how LH was in front when VB had got ahead from the start.

What we need to Karun to do the main chat with Martin to do the secondary. That would be Perfect.......
Prefer Croft to Chandhok personally.Croft becomes white noise, easily ignored. Karun is more invasive and still as bad.

People of a certain age will remember that Murray Walker was forever calling things incorrectly, but is now regarded as a legend.
Yes, but Murray was charming, a great communicator, very well informed, and genuinely respected in the F1 community. Croft is clueless, annoying, shouty, and just generally intolerable. paulguitar said:
