Croft has to go
Discussion
We watched last week's qualifying on a tablet in a weatherspoons in a seaside town, company very much as expected for a sunny Saturday lunchtime. Next booth was seemingly playing host to a death match between a pterodactyl and a velociraptor.
Probably still more pleasant and informative than crofty, though.

I tried a month subscription of F1TV for the race. Jeeez, the Sky commentary they use really is quite bad.
It’s like Crofty has never seen a race before and coming out with the most over exaggerated comments. It’s like that all the way through the entire race. It really spoils it for me. It must be tiring for the chap and it’s exhausting to listen too! If only he calmed down a bit and only got all eager beaver when it was really needed.
It really makes you appreciate the ch4 production (especially during the Ben Edwards days)

Nice to see Brundle making a nuisance of himself on the grid again though.
It did seem way better than the tired efforts of the last 2-3 years.Croft continues to be very annoying. I was waiting for the suicidal mega crash that he was so confident we’d see with Perez passing Bottas in the final two high speed corners! Those two well known passing corners.
‘Powered by AWS’ is winding me up, perhaps more than ‘lights out and away we go’, though there is some amusement at least when he mis times it but still has to shoehorn it in at 3 x speed.

Try watching American Indy or NASCAR racing, where each driver’s in car camera has a different sponsor’s logo in view, and the commentator *always* mentions the sponsor as the camera view is shown. Same with the pace car, the live timing screen, and I think they have AWS ‘predictions’ for fuel too. I might be misremembering this one, but pretty sure one of the pandemic events had “The final lap by Cisco Webex, keeping in touch with your loved ones in these diffficult times”. It’s utterly insidious. Croft continues to be very annoying. I was waiting for the suicidal mega crash that he was so confident we’d see with Perez passing Bottas in the final two high speed corners! The AWS stuff (and the Rolex clock ticking to the start time) is what happens when Americans were in charge of F1. Hopefully it’s a one-off thing, and not the start of moving towards how things work Stateside.

Shame that after 7-years of hybrid engines, he cannot accurately explain what de-rating is about.I am down to Ant, Karun and Rachel as the only SKY team members that I want to listen to. They are a very bad bunch.

I beleive he was having a brain fart, he corrected himself later on, or someone else did. Bit like when Ted said the new engines didnt have spark plugs a few years back I am down to Ant, Karun and Rachel as the only SKY team members that I want to listen to. They are a very bad bunch.

Wonder how many times Di Resta says ' listen' at the start of a sentence through a race weekend...
Glad it’s not just me that can’t unhear this! Annoying.
Also he missuses 'less' and 'fewer' with such consistency, it must be intentional.

It would make a good F1 drinking game. It's quite patronising I think to start each sentence with "Listen"?

The bloke simply cant put a coherent sentence together. He is appalling. Also he missuses 'less' and 'fewer' with such consistency, it must be intentional.
They have now got him commenting on a 2 second pit stop, total gibberish at an even faster rate than normal, and that takes some doing. Not sure how much longer i can take it, he is clearly there to stay and is being groomed to take over from Brundle. That's how stupid SKY are.
