Not really been watching the F1 much this season, focused on F2 but will give FP1 a watch today to see Mick in the Alfa.
He's had a strong F2 season, will be interesting to see how he steps up.

Just had a look at the webcams from the Nurburgring. Wet, very low cloud almost fog. FP1 only 90mins away, could be sporting!

did the same in F3, 1st season wasn't great, 2nd season won the champ. Shame we have to wait to November for the F2 season to wrap up.

Its been good to watch, lots of drivers winning after looking after their tyres.

Now I only keep an occasional eye on F2 but strong wouldn’t be the words I would use to describe it.

In fact his results seem only to have come good in the second half of the season, if there were stronger competition this season I doubt he’d be in the running.

9am UK time, 10 am local. Looking at the back of the pit complex at the GP circuit.

Looks like a November trackday at Anglesey. hehe

Would that be constrained by the helicopter?

That doesn’t look much like fun for the F1 teams. Cold and wet, and likely to stay that way all morning.

Potentially an air ambulance issue too - does anyone know how close is the hospital, and what the weather is like there?

Shwartzman has been strong

As the Sky programming starts, Brundle answers my question. The hospital is 45 mins by road, too far away. It’ll be up to the air ambulance pilot if we get underway on time, half an hour from now. Fog does look like it’s lifting though, so fingers crossed.

as has Illot.

Consistency is the key though, Mick has picked up quite a few 3rd's where as Illot was win or out of the top 3.

Because its all same machinery etc though your not going to see a situation where week in week out the same driver aka Hamilton pulls away from the rest, its all down to strategy and tyres.

Yep, where they are sat on that Veranda now, it does look like its clearing up a little, I reckon we'll be fine.

The webcam image is a lot brighter than it was an hour ago!

Half an hour delay minimum. Wonder if they have room in the program to run the full session, as no F2 or F3?

Can’t argue with the reason though, the safety rules are there for a purpose, many drivers have been killed and injured over the years to give us these rules about getting quickly to a hospital if required.

Good to see a few lucky fans in the stand.

It looked as if Schwartzman was going to romp away with the title but Mick has continued to evolve.
Pretty impressive.

He made a few mistakes earlier on but also recovered in respectable fashion. In the less dramatic races he's been consistent. Second half of the season definitely stronger.

The points reflect his ability but I wouldn't suggest he has shown his fathers level of ability just yet...

Anyhow, we're only talking about Mick because he's driving an F1 car today. Except he's probably not because the session is probably not going to run!!

This weather’s not getting better, is it?

I’d bet on this session getting binned.

Anyone know of a (fairly) reliable forecast for the weekend?

Some rain might spice things up nicely...or delay things like today.

Just noticed the timer is counting down, does this mean if no running in the next hour that the session ends as per the time?
