Nico Rosberg as a SkyF1 pundit

But looking past that, he does have good insights, he is direct and very frank. He clearly has no time for 'let's discuss something dull in an attempt to make it a major topic' - which is pretty much what Croft seems to be paid to do.
In that case he could single-handedly cut Sky's race day coverage in half. Apart from a bit of Skypad analysis and a couple of interviews, the whole Sky setup is to waffle on endlessly for longer than the race itself lasted, even if it's a race where nothing in particular happened.thegreenhell said:

Ted can continue his lonely existence creeping around the pits as he is normally quite efficient at explaining who's doing what. The rest of them clear off so far as I care! But I accept it's not all about me. There probably is a majority of viewers that are satisfied by the over-excitement the likes of Croft offers.

Internal motivation to be the best. Sometimes you get past trying to please your parents and want to carve out your own name and legacy.Nico knows his own weaknesses and worked very hard to overcome them. Look at his Youtube channel for track guide; he goes into minute detail about racing lines, apexes, angles, braking zones, little cheats and short cuts. He worked very hard to overcome the natural "talent" defeciency he had to Hamilton.
PS...I personally do not believe in talent; only hard work, dedication and motivation to succeed.
With correct application you can overcome anything.
personally i think Nico was quite unerappreciated as a driver and a world champion and beating Lewis in the process - the more lewis in the mercedes dominates everyone else and his teammate, time will show that Nico managed an amazing task.
He's frequently said that to beat Lewis he became something he did not want to be and so left (lets face it he knew Lewis wasnt going to leave the sport for a long time , so he'd have to beat him again)
He does a lot of work on social media and with renewables and investing in startups - i know he comes across as smug, but i like him and whenever he gets some new toy (car/watch etc) he's like a school boy getting excited rather than "yeah i'm rich bhes' attitude
I rather like him - he's bright, concise, has great insight and actually demonstrates a decent amount of self knowledge. Of course,he's a bit of a flash git but he's a handsome, privileged, Monaco-dwelling Formula 1 driver - what do we expect!
He was also a very good driver who beat Schumacher fair and square and put up the best showing as Hamilton's team mate. He knew he had the rub of the green in 2016 and left with his dignity intact.

I can take him as a pundit but I don’t like him.
His stunt at Monaco qualifying, preventing Hamilton doing a final run, was the most blatant piece of cheating since Schumacher parked his at Rascasse to do the same.
....against the number of times Rosberg had to go off track as lewis pushed him wide at the starts of races when he was outqualified ....?His stunt at Monaco qualifying, preventing Hamilton doing a final run, was the most blatant piece of cheating since Schumacher parked his at Rascasse to do the same.

A highly knowledgable yet smug, arrogant arse that many fail to warm to.
Still, given the choice of him or the concrete bollard that is di resta, it would be an easy one.

He certainly has a smile I don't trust. But you can forgive a lot when he's been there and done it, recently at that.

It’s a shame Keith Huewen is on MotoGP, and he’s cracking on that with Hodgey, as he was excellent commentating on karting when Lewis was racing.
Oh no not at all. He really is superb on MotoGP as that is his bread and butter but he used to be awful commentating on Sky Sports for the Super One and Champions of the Future karting. He shouted more than Crofty does and that's saying something. Every passing move was greeted with an annoying 'woooooowwwwww' when it was just a simple out braking move. I have the lots of VHS videos of him shouting endlessly as I was karting in those series at the same time. I must say they are far better being watched back on mute thanks to Huewen despite the lovely 2 stroke engines! The other karting presenter around at a similar time was a chap called David 'Kid' Jensen. He was quite good and he understood the series very well as his son was racing in it too.
As for Rosberg though, i think he provides a still somewhat current insight to the goings on withn Mercedes in particular and understands the modern cars very well. He is ideal for the FP sessions. I don't think he is a particularly strong personality but I like the insight. I cant believe its already been 4 years since he retired.
