The drivers aren't responsible for output that's broadcast, F1TV are. If they're being irresponsible enough not to put a delay on it that's their fault.
I’m pretty sure the driver’s radio was uncensored when ITV started broadcasting it. I think that changed after a Renault driver (Trulli?) telling his engineer his honest opinion of the car. “It’s s**t. It’s f**king s**t.”

I don’t think it’s responsible of the broadcaster to have a live uncensored feed of every driver in the heat of the race. The same applies to any high adrenaline sport.
The uncensored feed is only on the subscription service, but it’s time-synced to the car camera and the timing screens - so they can’t really delay the audio without also delaying the video and data. The ‘World Feed’ driver audio snippets, which air on network TV, are delayed and censored where appropriate.

The difference is that the uncensored feeds have only been around since last year, and it’s probably only a matter of time until someone says something even more gratuitously offensive than we heard yesterday - which will quickly be all over social media.

The drivers need to take responsibility for their own actions, not expect the broadcasters to vet them. You wouldn’t blame the broadcaster of any other live sports event for the participants behaviour.

So after 3 practice sessions in which everyone has to drive to the pre set track limits they decide moments before qualifying to change where the track limit is because the "best racing drivers in the world" wont adhere to the previous limit. May as well just get rid of those pesky corners next.

All the Marshall’s have already been out and inspected all their relevant areas. I can only imagine it’s because they have fixed the offending drain yet.

Still fixing the drains, going to be a long afternoon. Looks like they’re replacing the metal drain with a pipe and concrete.

Their behaviour is a separate topic, the broadcaster IS responsible for their output. Pretty much every live event has a delay of a few seconds to cover something being broadcast that shouldn't be. Or in the case of Sky with football in empty grounds at the moment the commentary are responsible for doing the stand apology for any language heard to cover their own arses with ofcom. It's not a new thing.

Don't know why they don't just ban them from going out on the drain and if they can't be trusted they get lap time immediately deleted or a penalty in race

Agree, but it's a liability issue now it's been spotted.

That’s at least three lifted drains we’ve seen in the live pictures. This could take a while..

I very much doubt if you run over the drain once or twice it will get sucked up and cause damage its the constant driving over and at full racing speed and loads that causes the problems.

They have other classes of races here with no problems.

They appear to either be using some sort of mastik, or spreading some sort of tarmac over them. Doesn't appear to be any welding going on for whatever reason.
