Lots of activity up here today!

Weather very changeable, left our villa near Lagos in clear sunshine, drove through a massive rain shower, and arrived at the circuit in sunshine!

I take it there's no Youtube free European streaming of this one, as there was for Eifel?

I’m 6ft5 ish... why?

Come down into Portimao to arrange parking for the weekend, we have ‘yellow’ parking allocated but want something a bit nearer to the entrance, as am just getting over a dodgy ankle. Parking is being sold at the Museu de Portimao.

It’s all a bit of a melee down here, massive ‘motorsport park’ set up, and lots of people come to see it, but nowhere to park, so traffic is a nightmare near the centre of town and sea front!

It's just the angle of your photos, it looks like you're taking them whilst towering many metres in the air in line with the tops of trees and so on hehe

I'll shuffle back in to my corner getmecoat

Maybe he's using one of Gazzab's hot air balloons.

Ahh fair enough! I was just seeking out good vantage points.

The last one was taken up in the hills overlooking the circuit.

Now down to one of my favourite beach bars at Porto do Mos for a spot of lunch.

According to my ticket info I have info on 'the colour of my access road and free parking area' I don't need parking so there's a space free if need be.

It says there will be shuttle buses from Portimao to the circuit, I plan to use this service if it is available still.

Cheers smile have managed to buy a parking voucher for the main car park behind the grand stand so I’m all good now.

Looking forward to heading up in the morning for FP1, have the proper camera on charge.

You’d have never guessed from your username laugh

Many thanks. They’re the ideal car for driving long distances in, this is the third time now I’ve driven to the Algarve in a Mustang.

It also links in with the fact that the teams are doing a mandatory test of next years tyres for Pirelli in the first 30mins of FP1. No point having a piece of kit on the car you won’t be using with the tyres.

Big comfy V8s are definitely great for European trips, the Monaro has been to Le Mans 4 times and the Ute once (easier to carry spare tyres in that hehe)

Glad the pony is getting used properly biggrin

A good friend of mine has just opened a restaurant in Almancil called Tribulum. Check it out if you're over that way smile

After the torrents of 2 days ago we’re back to blue skies and light winds In the Portimao region today.

The various on line weather forecasts often vary considerably from one another - but the consensus is that the next week or so will bring consistently sunny weather - with the exception of midday-ish on Sunday through until 6pm or thereabouts.

The whole field experiencing Portimao In the wet for the first time in an F1 car on race day.

Could be interesting...

My view for the weekend here in bancarta Norte. Have an excellent view of cars coming down the straight, and through turns 1 and 2 cool

Slightly delayed getting in, no liquids allowed through the gates, so had to take water and sun cream back to the car. Hat needed tomorrow laugh

25mins to FP1

It's a grand prix, there'll be talk of the rain that might be coming in the days before and even during the race to build up some drama, only for it to stay bone dry as always.
