Interesting how many great races we’re getting out of the “old” circuits. Lots of elevation changes again here looks great.

Only realised about halfway through watching the race that I raced go karts there once years ago!
I think the circuit makes a massive difference, it would be great if this one was retained - but my expectation is that it won’t,

I'd assumed that he made up 3-4 places off the line and a couple more due to others mistakes, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Outstanding.
That's a hell of a lap! Some superb driving there.

Shame for Kimi that he just missed out on scoring a point.
Masterclass for first lap. Remarkable.

Yes it is rather frustrating that we’re seeing all these “new” fantastic tracks and yet we probably won’t see them again.

Or are they just throwing up great races because they are new?

That was another cracking race! Lots of scraps all up and down the field..

Well done Lewis. Can anyone who knows tell me, does Lewis actually have poor tyres when he complains on the radio or is it a psyche battle? (i.e. Oh no my tyres are awful, oops look at that fastest lap Valteri, I would have gone faster but you know, the tyres are shot.....).....

Albon must surely be out at the end of the season? The car does not suit him and frankly he would be better off in another car that does. He is not as bad a driver as he looks in that car.... Swap with Gasly who seems to be on fire, but then again if the Red Bull doesn't suit him..........

Kimi surely wins best first lap ever/most overtakes on a first lap!?!??!

And WTF does Max have to do to get a penalty? I mean, is the FIA just sitting there letting them get away with everything because he is the only one challenging the Mercs?!?! Next week I expect to see him with little blades on his spokes to slice up other cars and the Stewards will allow it....

And I think today we can see exactly why Tracing Point are getting rid of the useless Perez who can't overtake safely or fight his way back through the field or even get a decent quali lap in, sticking with the overtake king instead......... I presume when they say Lance Stroll, they don't mean it is as an instruction.......... Poor Ottmar is running out of ways to excuse it...

And Russel appears to continue to impress.

Just watched the highlights. Great race. Really enjoyed that.

Whoever nominated KR's opening lap as best ever, I can't argue. I'd certainly say it is in my F1 watching experience, including Senna in 93. Such a shame it was converted to point but I'd still have KR down as driver of the day for lap 1 alone. Is his contract up for renewal or something ? wink

LH was immense again today. Great watching history being written like this. Performances like today are very like the ones I remember Schumacher's career for. Seemed like he was in a league of his own.

Great by Gasly and CLC too and some other good performances in the top 10.

Every race, I desperately want us to be talking about a great performance by Albon but it's just not happening is it? He seems to be going backwards if anything. I don't where him and Red Bull go with this. It's not working but then it's not worked with Gasly either and he's shown that he's no slouch when not in the RB. I think Albon really needs to find another seat before he's forgotten about.

Edited to add, maybe it was just C4's selective editing but Vettel was basically mentioned once I think. And that was because he had a lock up (sorry: under rotation) late in the race. He really is having a torrid season. Hope he see a bit of the old Seb in the AM next year but I have my doubts.

And your comments are downright rude most of the time.

If you disagree, I'm happy to put up what I know, but not if you challenge.

You carry on thinking what you want about Senna's charge through the pits. Just accept that I don't care.
What you stated was wrong Derek.

Derek... How might a person disagree with you on a public forum without challenging?

JSF does lack a certain level of tact, granted smile
I dont suffer fools or foolish comments. In this case Derek made a ridiculous statement about Senna being reckless. That was completely wrong factually and out of order.

If he cant handle being corrected, stop posting nonsense.

Maybe, but it's only happened 3 times so far. It does feel like more though.

To be completely fair, it was a completely ridiculous statement. It's there on the footage, McLaren where caught off guard and not ready with the tyres. So he passed by.

I missed the first ten laps of the C4 Highlights coverage and my mind was only partially on the race, but given Derek's anecdote about a promising probationer having her feet on the desk reading a book, should they let Vettel go now and put Schumacher Jnr. in the car, but I thought there may be something in Vettel's contract preventing that plus, would it be fair to throw Schumacher Jnr. in at the deep end like that?

I've never yet met someone who says things like that who isn't rude, supercilious, and condescending, and you're no exception.

Very, very few of us have met each other.

Perhaps take a moment to think about why other users keep bringing up your attitude and conduct. Once you’ve convinced yourself your bad manners are acceptable and everyone else’s poor view of you is wrong, you can try and placate the niggling doubt that everyone else might just be right and it really is true, no one likes you.

I think it was Peter Windsor said that when F1 first went to Istanbul that he watched Hamilton taking lines through one corner nobody else was trying so I was thinking Lewis would apply himself to this new track and whack it out of the park.

I've yet to see the post race coverage and I am hoping Hamilton says what a track it is.

You're a plank, JSF.

Here's a forum (largely) full of enthusiasts, all of whom recognise and appreciate your huge and amazing knowledge, insight and valuable contributions.
You have their ear, man.

Acting like a disagreeable and boorish oaf isn't warranted nor necessary.

Thanks for sharing that. I wonder what Peter Windsor will say about that on his YouTube Channel.

Indeed, perhaps as it’s happened in Quali 6 times as well (in that order), although we have had 10 drivers on the podium so far this year (and 7 teams)..and that’s without any grid penalties mixing things up.
