Checo’s 16th consecutive race finish in the points yesterday, that’s only 3 finishes off the all time top ten.
And yet facing no race seat next year in lieu of the fella running last before retiring after a mistake filled weekend and the ex-world champion who may be past his best.MiniMan64 said:

The Canadian is stealing a drive and has no talent. We all know this. Daddy should grow a pair and put Sebastian and Checco together. MiniMan64 said:

Stroll really isn't very good. His Dad must really love him to boot out one of the better drivers on the grid, who incidentally brings a ton of cash with him, in favour of that wet lettuce who shares his DNA.RonaldMcDonaldAteMyCat said:

Also, Stroll and Racing Point's behaviour over the positive COVID test was disgraceful, I can't believe that the driver and team weren't punished. I assume that Stroll didn't fancy quarantining in Portugal and so didn't take a test until he got home!Piginapoke said:

Germany wasn't it?I agree however, Racing Point's actions were beyond the pale. The BBC Chequered Flag podcast did quite a big section on it on their pre race show and really went to town on them. They quite rightly made the point of how F1 had received special dispensation from governments all around the world and they very much put the whole paddock at risk.

Yes it is rather frustrating that we’re seeing all these “new” fantastic tracks and yet we probably won’t see them again.
Or are they just throwing up great races because they are new?
I think that is part of the equation. Having unknown aspects to an F1 race (new rules, new circuits, new technical specs etc) does create an element of variability that eventually gets ironed out as the teams learn and understand the new situation.Or are they just throwing up great races because they are new?
But I liked both Portimao and Mugello anyway, just because they LOOK like a racing circuit should look like (not a sand pit or a car park) and they have lots of elevation change - which makes a circuit more challenging for the drivers and makes the event more visually interesting for the spectators and viewers.
Well I’m just away to drop my travelling companion off at Faro for her flight home... I’m staying out here for a while, not sure how long yet.
It has been a fantastic weekend, throughly enjoyed race day yesterday. So pleased the track played a starring role, and the drivers and fans all seemed to enjoy it. Highlights have to include Kimis first lap, and Carlos leading the race!
Lowlight, well there’s only one for me and that’s Lance’s lunge across the front of Lando’s car. Totally ruined his race on what should have been a double points finish for team papaya.
Have a thousand or so photos to sift through now over the next few days!
Oh, I spotted this chap in the coffee queue yesterday, didn’t say hello as I’m an introvert and I was in front in the queue

That is brilliant! His positioning was inch perfect. Kimi seal-clubbing noobs in a computer game
Really enjoyed the first half the race. Got a bit bored towards the end, but it's a great track.
Congrats again Lewis, quite rare to see Bottas getting past him. Leclerc drove a good race, lots of good scraps... they could reduce the DRS zone a bit.

Very, very few of us have met each other.
Perhaps take a moment to think about why other users keep bringing up your attitude and conduct. Once you’ve convinced yourself your bad manners are acceptable and everyone else’s poor view of you is wrong, you can try and placate the niggling doubt that everyone else might just be right and it really is true, no one likes you.

Glad to see the post race playgroud arguments are matching the race for interest and performace!
Wonder if we should have a vote at the end of each season for "past race argument of the year"...?

Thanks for sharing that. I wonder what Peter Windsor will say about that on his YouTube Channel.p1stonhead said:
That’s brilliant! He was seemingly the only guy who had his tyres switched on, and could instinctively find the grip on the track as everyone else struggled at the start. Sandpit Steve said:

Derek... How might a person disagree with you on a public forum without challenging?
JSF does lack a certain level of tact, granted
As you asked . . . JSF does lack a certain level of tact, granted
How about: 'Why do you think that? The official statement suggested that the team weren't ready for him.'
The thread is for fans of F1 and DeltonaS. It's like, during the race, chatting to those around you in the stands. After the race it's like sitting around a table in a beer garden chatting about what we've seen. No personal attacks, no attempts at self-aggrandisement, just fans having a bit of fun and, perhaps, sharing information.
That particular post did not show lack of tact. It was abusive. He states he does not suffer fools as if it is a badge of honour. It’s almost as if he views it as an excuse for his rudeness. Bewildering.
Resorting to ad hominem attacks is to be despised. Why people think it is an acceptable way to respond defeats me. It’s disruptive and, as with this one, takes the argument away from what they posted.
You asked politely despite, I assume, you thinking that the comment was not that bad. That’s the way a post on the F1 thread should be.
I hope I have explained my reasoning clearly, and in a polite manner.
On to important matters. The race was a cracker. One of the best this season, and it’s been a season of, in the main, enjoyable races. Let’s salivate over it.

Hamilton said he made a mistake, so gave it up not wanting to risk the drivers championship or risk taking both cars out. He said knew he could get past him so kept his tyres in good condition Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
