Does anyone happen to know a VPN provider that currently works with nowtv overseas?

My usual one is getting detected..
Just hot spot from phone to iPad, no vpn required for now tv/Sky go
I’d suggest he’s not in the UK hence the requirement for a VPN?
That’s how I read it too. If you connect on 3G/4G, and use the phone as a hotspot via Bluetooth/wifi it bypasses the need for a vpn..

Bumping this back up as I need some help.

I've currently been watching via the F1TV app, which was setup initially by a friend in Poland, so he has been paying and I pay him each month, but rather than keep doing that, I noticed there was mention of subscribing via Google / Google Pay, but for the life of me can I find it in the F1 or F1TV app on how to do this. I did initially see it a few months ago when it was discussed on here, but now I can't see it.

Am I missing something to change my subscription to be paid via Google.

TIA
I think if you were to cancel your current subscription then re-purchase through the app it will have the option to pay through Google.

Rather than finding an alternate payment option, you would be initially setting up the cost within your Google Store which would then be a subscription from that account.

As opposed to how you (presumably) logged in through the website to set up initially.

It'll look more like this sort of thing, versus a form.

I think this is right - I downloaded the F1 app, connected my phone via VPN, logged into the app and there was the option to pay via google pay.

Once it was setup on my phone, I then access the content using the same logon details on my PC rather than a phone. Initially I tried to pay via google pay via the website but it wasn't an available option.

It might be available to download, but are you sure it is available to use (without VPN)? I thought Sky had exclusive right to broadcast F1 in the UK.

Ah, makes sense. If you are using a VPN (like I do) then it will work. I suspect without a VPN it won't.

Would be interesting if someone who reads this thread and isn't already a f1 tv subscriber could see if it works. I suppose it is possible the Sky exclusivity deal has just expired?

Are we talking F1 TV Pro, where you have access to live stuff and previous 2021 races - Or F1 Access, where you have just past seasons?

Pretty sure Sky still have exclusive rights for a few years frown

F1 TV has been available on iOS for the last couple of years. It allows you access to the F1 archive, but it doesn't allow you to watch the races live. It will give you live timing and text commentary, and you can watch a replay of a race about (I think, although I may be wrong) 7 days after it has been run. But not live in the UK

Sky have the exclusive rights to show F1 live until 2024. There was talk of live race coverage via F1TV being available if you had Sky Q and subscribed to the F1 channel, but I don't think anything came of it.

I’ve had pro for the last 3 seasons subscription via IOS, £59.99 pa.

I can watch the races live, now hopefully on Apple TV, which is much better than a tablet/phone, I have Sky Sports, I may not need it next season.

I tend to watch the race/Quali on Sky, and use F1 tv for onboards.

Yep I’m paying for it twice but f1 tv pro for £3.00 a race is worth it.

The ‘only’ official offering in the UK is f1 tv access, which will give you last years races back for several years, you also get live timing, and selected tv slots/features.

However you can upgrade or subscribe to pro via the App Store.

It’s geo blocked so you need a VPN pointed at a f1 tv pro country, ie the USA, otherwise it won’t work.

Also using F1 TV Pro in the UK via VPN.

I use f1viewer on Mac, then cast to Apple TV. This way, you only need to use the VPN when getting the URL (with token) for the stream. You can then turn it off once you're watching. Means you can use a free VPN service with a small monthly data allowance.

I have just been looking at F1 TV on the website and it says i can get a years subscription, including exclusive documentaries and 650+ historic races, for £19.99 a year.

Bearing in mind I am paying Sky £18 a month, on top of the normal Sky service.

That seems too cheap,I am mis-reading, mis-understanding or having my trousers taken down?

ETA: Ignore that, I had been reading and googling for a while and couldn't find the answer. I then typed the above and predictably enough found what I was looking for. £19.99 a year doesn't get you the streaming service, just the historic races and data.

F1 TV Pro doesn't even show up on site in the UK.

Yep, I think that is where we are up to - looks like if people want to ditch sky (as I did) and still watch the live races you can get a VPN and an F1 TV Pro subscription (paid via Google Pay on your phone so no credit card country checks). Then just watch the streaming service via the VPN. You also get the Sky commentary, although not the build up or past race stuff - that is provided by the F1 channel themselves.

Great anticipation for 2022 and the new rules but it was a pretty dull uncompetetive season. So not looking forward to 2023 like I would normally.
with the massive price increases of everything else I guess the sky packages could look cheap but its more like the crap races that would decide me on wether its worth it.
Even the C4 show has been turned into a jumbled up mess, probably by sky input so even that is hard work now.
I would prefer them to just show the race with a sober commentary and fk all either end. But its all shouty piss you pants hurry up stuff.

Does anyone know of an online guide to setting up US F1TV with a VPN? I take it you need to use some sort of pre-paid credit card registered in the US for it to work? I'm not paying sky anymore, the exclusivity deal can die a horrible death!
