I'm sure he'll get quicker. In an interview yesterday he was pretty honest about it, he said he's not driving the car instinctively yet, he's getting there but it's a process.

Either that's true, or we are to believe he's become personally a second+ slower over the winter.. doesn't seem likely!
Had the same issue for the first 1/3 or so of the season when he joined Renault and Hulk was beating him regularly. As soon as he got things to his liking All was well again. A day and a half of pre season testing and 3 rounds in still isn't a lot of running really, especially with practice sessions being shorter aswell.

I’m not a big fan on Seb but would like to see him n the mix again so 10 !!
I'm a fan of his, but do struggle to believe he'll get back on top...

But regardless, I'd at least like him to improve enough to remain in the sport for a couple more years. F1 need characters like Seb smile
I'm keen to see him do well and he seems to be getting on top of the AM.
If memory serves, he hasn't spun once this season, right?
I think twice, so no, not once biggrin

Also a bonus mark for being typical 'desperate Seb' and rear ending Ocon in Bahrain wink

He's still popular though, so much so that I imagine his sponsors more than pay his salary. Id also say it's believable that he's a genuine Aston Martin fan, which probably counts for a lot.

Haas & general paddock chat seems impressed with Schumacher. Alfa next year is probably a no brainer, especially if Mazepin Snr buys Haas.
If he buys the team I guess he'll go looking for a driver that won't routinely show his son up. Hell of a job to find such a driver that has a superlicense though..

Nissany is faster than Shumacher as well which I think hasn't done anything very good either.
But then does that show anything? A Williams is faster than a Haas, is that a big surprise?

What Ferrari need to do, if they really want to develop Mick is get him in the Alfa Romeo for next year.

Let Haas become some sort of sad Mazepin appreciation society, with someone who finished 12th in F2 to partner Mazepin, so he doesn’t get shown up!
Shumacher reminds me of Albon. Everybody on here was going on about how good Albon was after the Belgium gp...

As you are saying, let's see how Mick develop as a driver. Fingers crossed, he'll better than Albon and definitely a billion time better than Marzepin.
Why, "fingers crossed he'll be better then Albon " ?

Seems a strange thing to say.

What is so strange to you? didn't end up very well for Albon to be average compared to other F1 drivers. you just hope that Mick will develop to be a better driver.

Why do you hope that though ?

Sorry? Don't you wish people to get better at what they do?

So all the drivers on the grid then ?

Just strange as why you seem fixated on Schumacher.

If he's good enough he will succeed, if he isn't then he won't .

Any particular reason why you want him to succeed.?

What a weird conversation. Red Bull have struggled to fill that second seat and now they're in a championship battle that matters more than ever... Wouldn't we all hope the new no2 does a good job in order to help sustain their battle?

If MS can't at least match Bottas for points soon enough, then RB's chances are shafted quite frankly.

12, I'd like to see him do well again. I found him pretty intolerable when he was winning everything at Red Bull, but away from the track I've always thought he seems like a great bloke.
-1 for vettel. I think he's been going backwards now for 4 years and should have left the sport whilst he had some credibility. Things like ramming Hamilton didn't help

I don't fix on Shumacher, I pointed out that he was as well behind Nassiny. You just wish that drivers get better and don't get spat out of F1 like Albon.

Looks like you are trying to twist a story and create an argument. Sorry to say, but you are barking up at the wrong tree if it is what you are looking for.

Personally I think Albon is a better driver than Schumacher.

Maybe. I feel like they are similar. I admit that it is early to "judge" the second as he only started. but that the beauty of forums... we can talk rubbish freely! lol

Mick has time out of the limelight to learn and make mistakes best he does that in a car he won't be judged on.

Next year in the Alfa he can make progress.

What’s up with Ricciardo, is he that much slower than Norris?
I would imagine it's just a question of the car not suiting his driving style. He managed the transition from Redbull to Renault remarkably well, but for whatever reason he seems to be struggling in the Mclaren.
He took a while to get up to full speed at Renault too. He wasn't there by race 3. I think he's been very honest about where he is with the team in interviews, even when he was asked about being told to move over for Norris his response was fair play to the team, they give him a shot and he just wasn't fast enough, so they asked him to move over and it was the right thing. And he knows he's not quite there yet with the feel of the car and that means either him getting used to the car, or the team working out how to make the car feel right for him, but he went so far as to say Norris is performing well in the car so there's no problem there, he just has to get used to it and find the speed.

No sign of the arrogance I often see him labelled with. He's seemed grounded, honest, and humble. And slow hehe

He will get there soon.
