The fact he won more races and led more laps this year than anybody else just passed you by did it. Either Lewis OR Max would have been worthy winners of this years title.....if the race hadn't ended in controversy and Max had of eased to victory literally NOBODY would be saying it was a lucky title or he wasn't elite.

I think there are quite a few elite level competitors in F1.....all the way down the grid......and some that aren't drivers too!
He did not 'win' more races, he was gifted two wins (Spa and Abu Dhabi), so they are tied on 8 each. He did lead a lot more laps than anybody else, agreed. Max has had a lot of support from the stewards this year to enable his title, so yes, it was an early Christmas gift. No way is he 'elite', he should have had it wrapped up with 2 races to go if he really was elite.
Righty o, so in your parallel universe where they won eight each (ignore max’s tyre failure from the lead in Baku too) but anyway. So he lead more laps than anyone else added together and took the same amount of wins as the greatest driver of all time but he’s not one of the elite.

Do me a favour and don’t comment on F1 until you actually can say anything other than drivel.
I'm not the one saying drivel, show me any part of my post that is factually incorrect.

He’s not elite yet, just one championship battle isn’t enough.

But on your other point, where in the season was Max going to eke out an additional 44 (over Lewis) points before the Saudi GP?

You made an assertion, will you back it up?

I'll start with Silverstone. If Max had not decided to turn into Lewis he would likely finish second, with 18 points.
Baku, If RB had not decided to run low tyre pressures (this is the most likely scenario), he would have won the race. 25 points and possible another for fastest lap. Right there you have 43 points in 2 specific races. I am sure I can find another point in the other races.

Even the elite aren't perfect.

Havent read any of the thread but in my view unless a genetic freak most elite level athletes/humans have similar motor skills and can train themselves to a similar level if remaining healthy so the differentiator between all elite sports people in most sports is mentality.
I'd argue that a lot of elite level sports people are also freaks genetically speaking
To put into a more rational context, there are plenty of sportspeople who are more nurture than nature, as they've had access to facilities and opportunities, plus have put in the hard work.

The true elite do all the same hard gravy, however have something that only nature can give, rather than pure nurture

Pretty much what I said except I had the added dimension of mentality.

I've been catching up on the Beyond The Grid podcasts and it was interesting to hear Pedro Diniz's honesty and admittance with his struggles to maintain a constant state of flow.

This is oddly compelling

This too, a pattern show about class or maybe the elite
