With anyone else we'd be saying something along the lines of 'well he's embarrassed himself there' but not Max smile
Incapable of it.
I’m jealous of the self confidence frankly.
If you are gifted and rich, you can probably get through your entire life like that.

For normal people, there are plenty of opportunities to have our shortcomings pointed out to us at every turn.

"At the end of the day, criticism, that's always there," Verstappen said. "But I think from my side, what is unfair [is] that I am treated differently to other drivers."

Apparently 2 other drivers did the same as Max last weekend.

For example Lewis - Other people do exactly the same thing and they get nothing, because both of us were off the track," Verstappen said. He seems to have forgotten what happened in Brazil very quickly.
He’s obviously forgotten that Lewis was only off the track because he was avoiding being hit by him laugh
Both Max and Horner have said the same thing multiple times about both drivers being off the track and none of the interviewers have pointed out the obvious, that Lewis is only off because he was blocked from turning in and if he had he would have hit Max, which they then would have complained about!

I'd love to see ddom and honda exige on a track with their own cars with someone who drives like Max does, and see them defending the moves he's pulled on them. I somehow don't think they'd be saying the same thing.
Sure, if you can swing I’ll get the best mid size hire car I can and join them this weekend smile

Just saw on Sky the Bahrain race where Max let Lewis back past. It was strange because didn't weave all over the shop then brake test Lewis and somehow they did not crash..... It looked (odd I know) like he just lifted off a little for Lewis to go past....

I have never, in almost forty years of watching F1, disliked a driver - with respect to both their driving and their personality - as much as I dislike mv, and that narcissistic self pitying diatribe of bs is a perfect example why.
Great talent, awful person, awful driver.

I think he's right, though, it is unfair: it's unfair on the other drivers that get penalties whilst he's allowed to get away with it.

Oh, that's not quite what he meant...getmecoat

It is even more amusing when Karun on Sky did a short feature on "why Max is a cheating little s**t" (not what they called it but they may as well have) which at the end showed why when Lewis did what Max did they crashed at Silverstone (Having just been through five examples of Lewis trying to avoid being crashed into and/or being forced off the track). It was really quite funny........

Not a clue it was on Sky yesterday I had it on in the background whilst on childcare duty.... It may be the Abu Dhabi F1 show (I am not certain) so could be worth a watch of that? Or maybe someone who didn't have to try and control two toddlers will know what the show was !!

Thanks chaps. That was really interesting to watch, we've all seen it these season but nice to see steering angles too which show he is just entering the corner to quickly really but only because its a desperate dive. Lewis got 10 seconds for Silverstone, Max only got a penalty for 1 of those Incidents, 5 seconds in Jeddah, and there were many more this season exactly the same, so yes Max has been treated differently this season.

I realise that he , like many other top level sportspeople, are driven by elements in their makeup that us ordinary mortals can’t comprehend. However I struggle to understand how he has such a lack of self awareness when a statement like this in these current circumstances tells us more about him than almost anything that’s gone before. Surely it goes far beyond an ego related disorder and into deeper territory .

Yes it was quite a hatchet job really..... Well, realistically it was just showing "overtakes" etc.. But really shows it for how it has been. It is just another reason why I want Merc and Lewis to win.

Seems very similar to the characters and situations one sees in a professional non sporting life too.

Helmut, you really should be giving practice your full attention, not posting on pistonheads.
