Possibly because he has worked to get UAE on the motorsport map, made the AD circuit his pet project and is looking towards Qiddiya which is billed to be the 'entertainment capital of the world' and has billions of his mates money pointed at.
I can imagine why he might be thinking a a GP in the actual (actually exists..) entertainment capital of the world might work against his interests. Or his leaders.

The F1 world has been out to get MBS since he was elected; he's not one of their own, he's from another motorsport, and they can't stand that. Funny that other FiA series don't have an issue with him......only F1....

MBS has chosen to be an F1 w
e, he makes sure he is on camera at every event. You hardly ever saw Todt at the races, Max was pretty low profile too until some ststorm peaked his interest.The bloke should be in Paris or Geneva doing his job, or visiting the smaller governing bodies to help them build the sport in their areas, not being on the podium at every F1 race giving out bulls

I feel massively sorry for him actually. This is clearly just a power play, with someone powerful out to get him. As a result even if he’s been a wee bit naughty I think all the focus should be on how he is a victim and the person leaking this to the media is a nasty piece of work. It’s all just a witch hunt with a nasty mob after him. Just ignore what he’s done because it’s all about the person on the other side of the power play.
