Crawford should have been a bit more circumspect there - needs a chat with Abbie Eaton about sausage kerbs.....
Needs to have a chat with the race director about those sausage kerbs too.

They really have no place on a Grade 1 circuit, how many more people need to be injured?
Agreed - especially as they are on (as in, part of) the directed route for "offs" at T1 - no choice but to drive over them. Stupid.

They wont remove them until someone dies. These people are idiots.
I wonder what Eaton will do if she has to take that route at T1? I'm sure she won't want to repeat / aggravate her injury having fought back to fitness.

The W series live timing page is worse than useless - getting way less info than the commentators.

Who wants to know total time for each driver, instead of last lap time?

And who cares what the fast lap and average speed are for each driver, when there's no split timing?

It does nothing to increase fan involvement if they can't see the data the commentators are talking about, i.e. Pulling being faster in sector 1.

This track is so dull for racing underpowered cars in particular.
F3 was the same this morning, wasn't it - it's not known for it's excitement with F1 either wink - I'm not holding out much hope for the car changes making much of a difference on Sunday.

Well that was dull. Typical Barcelona.

The commentator went to the croft school of last lap bullst too it seems. laugh
Have to say, this is probably my least favourite circuit of the season. Monaco has less chance of overtakes, but added drama of walls.

Sausage kerbs gone from the T1 'escape' route, I see.

Why bother putting them in - everyone knows they're st, everyone who has put them in has had to remove them, do these people never learn?

The sausage kerb has been removed from the T1 escape road. Good decision. But why was it there at all!

Edit: posted at exactly the same time!

DRS being switched on seems to have actually hurt the racing here.
Yes, sadly. 2nd to 9th stuck in a DRS / aero wash train.

Any chance this F2 race isn't a snooze fest ?

Got tyre change to deal with, so should be some overtaking, even if tyre-life induced.

Having been cooked at Silverstone last year, I don’t really envy the people already out there on the grass banks this early in the day. I know they need to secure their place for the F1 later but it looks absolutely boiling there already! Even under shade it must be roasting in the crowd.
Not going very well at all, according to these tweets - like Silverstone from 20 years ago - Silverstone is soooo much better now;

Started to liven up after the tyre changes. I wonder if the main event will follow suit?
Yes - Drugovich is proving to be in a class of his own - 10th to 1st, with tyres and time to spare.

Caldwell's strategy is now falling to pieces - can't keep waiting for a hoped-for SC when you're a second slower than everyone else on shagged tyres.

5 laps ago he could have pitted for Softs and got back into the top ten. Not now. Sad frown.

If anyone's interested the Formula Renault (no, I can't be arsed with the full new title) sessions can be found live on their FB pages, for example;

https://www.facebook.com/events/566180681525806

I found this out just too late to watch qualifying this morning.

Oooopsie, Felipe.

Pushing so hard.

Can't see how drivers following Drugovich are going to keep their times?

...and that is what Schumacher's Monaco legacy has brought to the sport - Doohan immediately commenting on how convenient that was on the last lap, implying he had done it on purpose.

Sad.

Hughes getting it badly wrong - that's a big thump!

Hit kerb into the swimming pool and went airborne, with no chance after that. Fortunately uninjured and walked away.

Not unsurprisingly, Lawson has lost his pole time.

Perhaps a little harshly, he has also been penalised 5 grid places.
