Boschung just drove Williams into the wall - left him zero space and just shoved him when he was alongside.

Interesting race direction there, to let the race continue. That was a big, big accident at the end.

Great race that.

And yep, very clean racing for most of the race until it all goes wrong and then it quickly completely unravelled didn't it!

Those triple-layer tech-pro barriers at some corners of the circuit look to be causing more issues than they solve, surely.

The issue that they solve, is fewer drivers ending up in the hospital. That last crash was not nice at all though, rather too close to what happened at Spa not so long ago.

Perhaps they need to move the metal barrier back, so the TechPro doesn’t jut out like it does?

Edit: I’m also pretty sure they didn’t properly repair the barrier at Turn 8, following the last accident. It certainly wasn’t fixed as the field passed the scene behind the SC on Lap 20. We didn’t get a view of it on the last lap. Possibly another case of finish-under-green-itis.

Sorry, I meant that it's not the depth of the barrier that's the problem, it's that they jut out so much.
I think Lando mentioned that in his post P2 interview yesterday 'We have asked them to move them back' he said (I think).

Yes, they need to be better integrated into the design of the corner.

They’ve just shown a live picture of the T8 barrier, my hunch was correct that it still hasn’t been repaired properly.

Feature race about to get underway - early start if you need a reminder.

edit: start delayed 5 mins for some unspecified reason (yet)

Vips is doing himself very few favours this year - careless again.

Helmut Marko will not be impressed.

Three laps to go, this should be an easy win, just don’t hit the wall…

The classic Baku crash.

Killed a decent race though.

I really don't rate the f2 field this year. The top 2 are in their third year of it. Doohan keeps making really stupid mistakes costing himself.

F2 racer and Red Bull/Alfa Tauri test and reserve driver Juri Vips has been immediately suspended following racist language used whilst live streaming yesterday. Unbelievably stupid way to potentially end your career.

Undoubtedly ruined his F1 prospects and pretty deservedly so. But I think he will land on his feet somewhere.

British 1-2-3 in W Series practice, and pretty close too.

1 CHA 1:56.696
2 PUL +0.031
3 POW +0.160
(can't find the rest of the standings, as the W Series website is a steaming pile of poo...)

See what quali brings this afternoon.
