A big improvement on his usual Princess mode.
Let's see how long it lasts.
I’ve noticed that when Hamilton has his helmet on, we hear the real Lewis Hamilton over the radio. Then when he takes it off and puts his face mask on, we get the fake Lewis Hamilton. Let's see how long it lasts.
Out of the car, it's clear from team personnel at Mercedes (and lately, George Russell) that Hamilton is an inspiration, a very hard worker, and pretty much the opposite of anyone with a 'princess mode'.
The dignity and grace he showed (along with his dad) after the Abu Dhabi scandal was, under the circumstances, truly amazing. Very, very few people in all topline sport could have acted with such class. The lack of respect shown online to him from some people continues to be surprising and disappointing. As an avid F1 follower for over four decades, I consider it an honour to have been fortunate enough to witness his career.

Difference with Hamilton is that he is the first era in which we, as viewers, have been able to hear it.
You think Senna/Prost/Mansell were any different? Think again.

Really? I’m not sure I recall any driver in the past putting on a face mask and becoming a PR robot. His face mask basically turns him into an NPC and people like paulguitar lap it up. I guess those are the kinds of people Mercedes and co want him to pander to.
Could you be a bit more condescending? paulguitar said:

And if anyone thinks I'm being biased, I grew up as a Nigel Mansell fan

Everybody changes their register depending on the situation. Most people wouldn't use the same language and tone that they use down the pub in a professional work meeting, for example. Criticising somebody for having a PR persona, when his public image is worth hundreds of millions of pounds is nonsense. Of course he is going to change how and what he says. Being older and mature helps, but he's likely been trained to do it, as he wasn't so careful in his early years.

I agree. Although I can imaging if someone hadn’t been watching enough, or not paid attention to what really happens, they could make the wrong assumptions due to their ignorance of the facts.Difference with Hamilton is that he is the first era in which we, as viewers, have been able to hear it.

EVERY driver becomes a PR robot out of the car, they’re trained on how to do it in the lower formulae. Thank the sponsors, thank the team and if it’s not going well then say how the team are pulling together and they will find the solution. The only exceptions I can think of in the time I’ve been watching F1 is Prost in 1990, Mansell, Raikkonnen and Montoya (and possibly Button, who said the PR guff but in a more charming way). Even Vettel toed the company line when he knew Ferrari had fired him.sparta6 said:

It's lasted his whole life from what I can see, given that we can see him on Youtube when he was a boy. He's known to have manners, it's been commented throughout his life, indeed Nicole Sherzinger was said to have noticed it immediately, which made him stand out compared to others she's dated.Let's see how long it lasts.
The last night race, when drivers were being dazzled by lights, and were effing and blinding about needing dark visors, I'm sure I heard Hamilton calmly say "Please have my other helmet ready".
So nice.

Even a professional race driver possibly only wears a helmet 1% of his life, so that would make the 99% to be the fake. Alfa numeric said:

If you’re getting paid an eight-figure annual salary by the team and their sponsors, you’re going to toe the line as much as you can. Occasionally emotions will get in the way, but that mostly gets trained out of the drivers when they’re teenagers in F3 and F2. Then you get the other end of the problem with the Alonsos and Raikkonens, who don’t give a f*** because they’ve made bank and and don’t really care if they get fired.

Non Player Character (A non-player character is any character in a game that is not controlled by a player.)
It's an internet meme that represents people who do not think for themselves or do not make their own decisions.
For me I would say if there was one on the grid, it would be more likely GR63 than LH44.

Other way around. It was actually his dad that saved the day by grabbing Lewis and telling him what to say before the microphone appeared.
Anthony is remarkable and has been essential to LH entire career.
