For some reason I'm predicting a Redbull coming together and a spectacular public slanging match.

No chance, Perez is on about as tight a leash as possible and the Verstappen side of the garage want to keep it that way. In fact if anything expect more matey behaviour from the pair of them as both camps want him in the seat next year instead of Gasly.

Wow, that’s embarrassing.

I was thinking they’d built a little pond and added the boats with a crane - but it’s actually a totally fake structure made of scaffolding and wood, with a ‘water’ carpet on top. No actual water at all.
Lol, are they trying to fool people into thinking they're actually at the downtown arena by the Bayside marina where they originally wanted the race, and not racing around a carpark in the middle of the suburbs miles from the sea?

Why don't they just erect a big green screen around the track, then they can change the background to appear wherever they want?

Even the concept doesn't work - viewed from above it's going to be obvious its a tiny puddle of 'water' and that all the boats are basically trapped in there forever.

Looks like the real life build might be simplified and smaller still

All a bit weird!

Yes but they haven't confirmed exactly what so far.

I don't get all the fuss about this. Isn't this just an exhibition stand for Azimut (or similar, can't remember now) to sell some boats over the weekend? No different to VW, for example, putting a bit of fake tarmac down at Geneva to sell a few Golf R's? I imagine piping several hundred gallons of water in for the weekend would draw serious criticism for 'green' reasons.

They have said they’re the parts that will tell them IF they’re moving in the right direction.

Not an overly optimistic statement biggrin

I agree. Seems like a lot of drama over an exhibition stand?

They’re not selling the boats, they’re renting them out for the weekend - for several thousand dollars per person!

Sounds like a development year to me!

Although they're never to be underestimated and they'd definitely play it down even if they had made a breakthrough.

I'm just not very optimistic this year.

Probably 200 thousand gallons.

Nothing we haven't done before at global events and film sets around the world. Never had any green criticism so far..

Real water would definitely look better on camera than that vinyl they've put down! Although I am biased of course biggrin

It should be a Red Bull circuit, although I believe Ferrari are going to unleash more performance?

The 'best of the rest' battle could be spectacular- Mclarens, Alpines, Mercedes, Bottas?

I've chucked a vote in for Perez on the basis this is a Red Bull circuit and I'd like to see a different name on the top step to mix it up a little bit ... no science involved in that decision making!

Would like to see what the Alpines can do if they don't go bang but that seems unlikely

There's a rumour going around that, in honour of the inaugural Grand Prix;

The local football team are changing their name to The Miami Porpoises.

Last time I tipped Perez it was a disaster! (As this forum often reminds me)

I think though it's not a bad shout, this generation of car is much more to his liking.

FP1 you may see two very different Merc cars.
