I'm cool with fewer overtakes. Miami featured the second highest number of overtakes until Barcelona and nobody was raving about that race- it was pretty boring despite the fact.
Yup, the problem is people are conditioned to think that more overtakes equals better racing.

In reality, we've lost the art of overtaking - It should be difficult. There's excitement watching someone battling to overtake.

100 easy DRS overtakes adds nothing for me other than a marketing number for F1 to boast about despite the racing not being that good.

Unfortunately, I don't see DRS going anywhere.

Watched the race on Channel 4.
Apparently, some bloke called Hamilton had to pit with a puncture on lap 1, then climbed from 19th to 4th, but had to settle for 5th.
Umm, is there a highlights-edit of his overtakes - links would be much appreciated smile - or did every media outlet ignore this driver's insignificant Sunday trundle?

Great result for RB, total domination.

Plenty of optimism for Merc fans, great recovery drive by Hamilton and valiant defending by Russell. Sainz letting the pressure get to him again.

RB need to get ontop of the reliability problems, it's looking like their season to lose if they don't.

Except that’s not true for the vast majority. The early to mid 00s had that sort of racing and it sent people to sleep. I’m not saying DRS overtakes are fun and if they stopped messing around with the regulations they could actually change the length of DRS zones to get cars near go in to the braking zone. Unfortunately braking zones are pretty tiny nowadays too.

His career apparently is over and he's playing second fiddle to Mercedes' new driver so no one is interested.

That is if you listen to some of the posters on here and lots on other sites.

In fact according to an apparently quite large number, he never really had a career anyway, it all being down to the car.

The rest of us know nothing, obviously. rolleyes

After posting the above, I've actually just looked at the poll results for the first time.

Truly delusional.

Bins the car once, almost does it a second time, the car that's way ahead breaks down, he spends lap after lap making a mess of a simple overtake even when his DRS worked and his team mate who is quicker is banned from overtaking him.
