I definitely haven't seen anything saying he's not and Seidl was convinced he'd be OK earlier in the week, so I think he's racing.
Few days of rest normally clears tonsillitis.

Beneath the fun exterior he's clearly a very determined young chap. I'm sure he will deliver a good result as he seems to be carrying the team right now..

Wonder how danny ric will do this weekend...i mean getting beat by your team mate that is ill is not news...think lewis did it a few years back when he was ill and out qualified bottas.

Praying mercedes have a quick car so we can get a three way fight even if its just qualifying
Most of Norris' advantage over Ricciardo is in slow speed corners...

I can see Monaco being a bit of a dip for Mercedes too, I reckon most cars on the grid will deal with the gradients, kerbs and traction zones of Monaco better than the Mercedes.

I think that Ferrari are going to be fastest and that any challenge to Red Bull for best of the rest will come from an unlikely source...
I may be wrong on this, but the Ferrari has the best low speed traction and low down torque right?
ISTR they have been observed as being the fastest on the early part of the straights. I don't know why exactly but we can speculate. Good traction seems to be a Ferrari trait from years past.

They also seem to energise the tyres well, with Red Bull appearing to struggle at times this season.
Yes, that is what ISTR (...took me a while, but got there in the end biggrin) as well.
What does it matter? History suggests having the fastest car won't stop them making a complete hash of it.

I await this year's disaster.

But good luck Charles biggrin

I'm not sure the MCL36 is suited to low speed corners, but I still expect him to better Ricciardo, even if Top 10 might be best he can hope for.

Rain (light - damp, greasy track) on Sunday would be a godsend for him though.

There's no Cobra in that picture. It's the 1952 Monaco sportscar GP. There was no F1 in Monaco for the four years 1951-54.

I didn't mention any year.

That photo is 1952 and that "cobra" is a Ferrari

How about slicing up the entertainment. Treat the chicane after the tunnel a bit like a rallycross joker lap. You get one or two chances to straight line it through the race for tactical overtakes, or getting out of DRS distance, undercut / overcut. Strategy would be interesting.

How about they have to go through the tunnel upside down?

Not quite, the car in the foreground is Pierre Levegh in the pole-winning Talbot Lago.

3 years on he was making headlines at Le Mans for all the wrong reasons…

The one in p2, that looks similar to a cobra to those not paying attention, is a Ferrari. I know what the car leading is and who the driver is.

I wonder how many red flags we will see in FP1 and 2.

Nurburgring 24Hour with F1 as background noise sounds better to me

That's too funny laugh

And makes it very obvious the friendship is genuine and in tact. Good to see!
