Siedl to Sauber, Andrea Stella promoted at Mclaren

Now rumours of a return for Ford, with Red Bull
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ford-linked-ret...
This seems to be a similar tie in as was proposed with Porsche, but Ford will not want a stake in the team.
Rumours in here too of Honda supplying Alpha Tauri, maybe buying it
(I still maintain that having 2 x F1 teams was Mateschitz's folly and won't last now he's gone)
All this is rumours obviously, but I think shows how seriously F1 is being taken and, crucially, how commercially viable it is. Which is a great thing

Ford to F1.......ha ha; they can't afford a proper budget for the WRC.
They can afford it, they choose not to.They spend $7bn a year on R&D and $3bn on advertising. A few hundred mill on F1 would be a rounding error.

Fords most famous moments in motorsport are mostly a result of them getting beaten...
But they're like Coca Cola and Red Bull these days - they just need their name to be seen a lot to remain relevant in the mind of the consumer. Actual achievement isn't strictly required to justify their expense in terms or the marketing they receive.
And these days, F1 is seriously cheap and very good value for any global company in terms of coverage. I have no reason to give credence to rumours of their return but if it happened, I also wouldn't be at all surprised.
How on earth can such companies get their brand given focus by a billion people at 20+ global sporting events every year for less than $150m? And just by taking part, some of that $150m comes back to them and they can write another chunk of it off as a loss making exercise. If they happen to not be doing well enough or poorly enough to raise headlines, they can simply act in a generally controversial way in the sport (cough, Red Bull..) and get the headlines that way.
Haas were on their arse this year but I bet Gene considers it the cheapest and best value marketing year to date.
Winning is for the passionate members of each F1 team. For those bankrolling the effort, winning is nice but taking part is all that matters.

Even the key sponsorship for a team isn't that expensive these days. I saw a few propositions for midfield teams and it was very reasonable compared other sporting events.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
