Her racing record particularly in open wheel format speaks for itself. She won and held her own in a male dominated sport and her views are backed by experience that none of the so called experts who fill these forums with nonsense have. Strange how her so called painful lack of knowledge made her a winner in the US.
How do her driving achievements in completely different categories qualify her to explain F1? The US is far more simplistic, Nascar is neanderthal in comparison.

Not sure what you were watching but it was very obvious she had zero knowledge of the technical aspects, driver dynamics and was winging it as she was simply drafted in as a 'face'. She repeatedly made inaccurate statements and went down weird cul-de-sac's that confused the others.
You are embarrassing yourself now. Suggest you go back to your play station. ‘ Zero knowledge of the technical aspects and driver dynamics ‘ for someone who one an Indy race against men, something like 7 Indycar podiums and one of 14 drivers to have led both Indy 500 and Daytona 500.

She was at an F1 race not Indycar

She has enthusiasm and frankly her interview with Lewis won her a free pass for a year IMHO.

She has a nicer voice than Di Resta and actually seems happy to be there, that is what I am looking for. Stupid questions? They all do that, although I think Nico is the best for questions as he really doesn't seem to care if he upsets anyone !!

And she knows enough about racing to hold her own it seems to me.

F1 is very different to Indycar.

I’d rather have Naomi over Damon or Johnny Herbert.

What can a F1 World Champion who won 20+ Grand Prix and raced against some of the greats Senna and Schumacher possibly offer against a Renault Clio Cup winner in China ?

Laughable contribution from him today really. White and male, so certain people will applaud it? smile

We like her, a good addition to the coverage. Her interview with Hamilton at the beginning of the season was one of the most genuine I've seen in years.

It's a bit black and white tbh...

FWIW I like Herbert but he's not the best as a pundit, they'd be better using him less often but for more interesting stuff than the endless cocking about.

Judge the contribution they make, not where they've come from perhaps?

How can you evaluate contribution without knowing their experience, to decide if they're talking ****?

If I need an expert I tend to hire someone with experience of the issue and has been there and done it not someone who has no experience. Same if I’m having surgery on my eyes I prefer someone who has been there done it and has a good track record of success not someone who has only done minor surgery

Quite easily.

Listen to what they say, judge whether it matches up to the evidence. Simple as that.

I often find that people that used to be participators in a sport tend to fall into old, tired cliché statements so it's nice to have some fresh input. Football is a fine example of replacing supposed experts that spout dross with people that'll analyse the actual game and yet old people moan and complain that their comfort zone is being tested and everything is going 'woke'.

I've been a massive Damon Hill fan since I was three years old. I'm 32 now and I don't think he brings anything particularly noteworthy to each race he pundits for. I don't think any of the other F1 drivers do either tbh, it's all tired and rehashed stuff.

Naomi Schiff so far been poor and is not an upgrade over Hill or Herbert. She offers little insight beyond us armchair enthusiasts could not make.

She's a good neutral speaker who's well spoken and doesn't have an accent that produces annoying pronunciations. She did do an excellent post-race interview with Danny Ricc today.

Sky seem like they don't know what to do with her and neither Schiff herself. I'd imagine Sky don't want another female pit reporter so perhaps presenting beckons. I can't see Schiff jumping on the Skypad and offer intricate detailed analysis that Chandok and Ant can.

Danica Patrick is an awful F1 pundit. She often gives inane answers that leaves Lazenby and other pundits puzzled. It's very obvious she gives the sport a glance and finds it difficult to use her own experiences into F1. On the other hand she has done excellent punditry for NASCAR and the Indy 500, often applying knowledge of technical intricacies.

Some PHers have remarked how good Jamie Chadwick was at the Imola Grand Prix for BBC 5Live. I listened to that particular race review and was very impressed. She noted how good Russell was during his pit window and learnt what "bazzers" were.

Sky don't even put any description under her name, as if implying she's achieved nothing.

As mentioned earlier I wouldn't be surprised if F1 employ her and for some reason Sky have been forced to accommodate her.
