Porpoising, what if?

Yes I think that is fair enough, especially when Horner never complained at all when it was Mercedes winning. Not once did he complain about DAS, or their Engine, or them winning and need rule changes to stop it... Not once...................
You didn't bother reading the whole article then? He says if his car was porpoising badly he would have his drivers bhing like crazy about it to get the rules changed.JoelH said:

To be fair, Horner was voicing his intent to challenge the Mercedes at the Barcelona shake down this year before it had even turned a wheel, then it turned out to be a stbox and he went very quiet…. His comment is worthless, his car is ok and his driver isn’t complaining.
Horner always reminds me of the worst behaviour you see in politicians. He has a pathological desire to be in the news, and will be as outrageous as he needs to be to make that happen. Best for everyone, if we simply ignore him. Sandpit Steve said:

After last season I can no longer be doing with him.He reminds me of the gobby little kid at school who hung out with the bullies for protection.
If the teams are worried about their drivers, I understand they could raise the ride height and that would ease the porpoise effect, but that would mean they go slower, so they don’t.
Either you have a concern and do something or it isn’t valid. The slower teams want a change because others are managing it better and therefore faster.
I don’t believe there should be a mandated change just because others haven’t found a solution.

If only it was that simple!Either you have a concern and do something or it isn’t valid. The slower teams want a change because others are managing it better and therefore faster.

The drivers already have accelerometers in their headsets. I'm not sure how much of that is currently logged or live telemetry. Even if it's just logged and checked after the race, it would be easy enough to come up with a criteria of G, frequency and a time period that must be avoided or risk a DQ. It's not a whole lot different to max cockpit temperatures in sports car.

I think the merc fans will moan the entire season, but unfortunately, this looks like its going to be an RB walkover and max's second title.
Could be a whole new RB era.
I agree that it seems to be Max's title to lose, though, I'm not convinced about total RB domination. Could be a whole new RB era.
Merc are a huge, race winning machine and Ferrari may actually get their act together for the first time since Schumacher.
Though, I can't believe that I just typed the Ferrari bit.

Pretty much, but that's the issue if you're biased towards one team/driver If Red Bull were suffering as much as Mercedes are, this place would be full of comments from Merc fans about how it's Red Bulls fault for running the car that low and how Horner just moaning to get the rules changed.
But the Red Bull fans would also spend all season moaning, saying the FIA need to do something.

However, perhaps the FIA do need to enforce safety BUT it cannot be a minimum ride height because other teams have demonstrated ride height can be low without porpoising.
