They were very clearly anti Max boos. They only started when he was announced, when he was being interviewed etc…
I’d feel sorry for him if his fans weren’t just as bad.
All a bit of a pantomime really.
I doubt he cares, but it must've been very cathartic for him to win given the tifosi had taken to chanting "Verstappen's mother is a we" in unison the whole weekend! I’d feel sorry for him if his fans weren’t just as bad.

I've seen videos of Italian Ferrari fans going round and forcing people wearing RB merch to remove said gear.
The difference is that the media weren't asking Leclerc to essentially apologise for the fans' behaviour as they did with Max nor did they ask Ferrari to issue a statement asking fans to behave better as they did with RB.

He didn’t throw the rule book out. He avoided finishing under the safety car ‘if at all possible’ by doing what he could to restart it within the framework of the rules, but allowing for some degree of interpretation which, at the time, allowed that.
The main argument people have seems to be based around some grand conspiracy to ensure Lewis lost which is an impossible discussion to conclude as people who believe it was a conspiracy are never going to be convinced otherwise.
Anyway. Hopefully we can all just agree to disagree on what we’d like to see in terms of race finish and move on.

Just watched a small clip of DeVries after he'd parked his car at the end of the race. He was having trouble getting out simply because he was so knackered.
"Aarghh, I'm struggling to even... Can someone help me or am I alone in parc ferme? I can literally not even lift my arms anymore"
A crew member came over a bit later to do his straps etc.

Yeah he said he ached. Just goes to show how physical the sport is, and he's a very fit guy."Aarghh, I'm struggling to even... Can someone help me or am I alone in parc ferme? I can literally not even lift my arms anymore"

This used to happen much more often in the 1980s and '90s. Senna was unable to get out of his car on more than one occasion and I remember Piquet actually physically collapsing on the podium.paulguitar said:

So glad this race gave us an opportunity to discuss Abu Dhabi 2021 again and that it is three weeks until the next race, I feel the good folk of PH did not have sufficient opportunity to discuss it over the winter.

Yes he said to Sky F1 afterwards that he was simply not fit enough to cope with a full race and he had been doing things other than training. Incredible really given his previous experience in driving etc. Really shows how fit F1 drivers actually are.honda_exige said:

It despicable and I unacceptable to chant that.I've seen videos of Italian Ferrari fans going round and forcing people wearing RB merch to remove said gear.

If only they had realised they could have chanted the factually correct ‘verstappen’s dad is a violent thug’, then nobody would have had anything to apologise for.

Well Max hasn't done anything wrong, he just seems to be the beneficiary of whichever way the FIA decide they're going to operate the safety car on the day. I’d feel sorry for him if his fans weren’t just as bad.

AD '21 was a monstrous thing to happen, and it ain't ever going away. I've just read a book about Bentley at Le Mans back in the '20s, and the White House Crash etc, nearly 100 years ago now. They'll still be reading about AD '21 in a 100 years time too, I reckon. Might as well get used to it.
