For anyone trying again this morning at 11:30am when they re-open ticket sales:

Use PayPal checkout if you have it set up linked to your Bank Account (Card payments were a nightmare yesterday and kept failing).

I had my laptop using Edge, iPad with Safari and mobile with Chrome all in the queue and the only one that got through was using Chrome Browser on my iPhone.

Take from that what you will, but I managed to get tickets yesterday using the above method. Hopefully it's a lot smoother today!
Don't forget to hop on your left leg and hum the Archers radio theme tune. Oh, and face your monitor or mobile screen to the east...

It really is that easy!!

or maybe Le Mans for the 100 years.
You'll need to give that some thought pretty quickly, huge demand for 2023. Lycian Events (who I went with this year) had ticket/pitch requests for more than double their allocation, so there are lots of disappointed people (it's a great site at LM, to be fair)

Looks like lots of tickets available. How much have prices changed since they went on sale? Do they change between joining the queue and getting to buy htem?

GA is available and £269. A lot...

3-day grandstand tickets are c. £500 which is what Monaco (used to be at least) for a race-day grandstand.

Then there are hybrid tickets which I've not seen before (GA+) and enclosures etc.

Couple of observations from this side of the world:

1) Is the red bar to ascertain how desensitized to being overcharged punters can be? How does it work when, after being sat there for an inordinate amount of time, they then reward you by putting the price up again? Thank you for waiting. We appreciate your patience, here'e another price ramp!! rofl

2) I used to sit in email cafes on my travels in the 90's. One of the highlights was trying to send emails. Waiting for dial-up to connect, with the accompanying pings, gryczzch, bing, bing, bing and whirrs, and being timed out after half an hour still makes me laugh...

Anyway, carry on...isn't it just a...! biggrin

My tickets went up £50 each meaning that my mate who paid £99 for early access saved a £1 on me.

Plus he’s being a smug prick.

Such a smug smug prick!

3.5 hours and I got in. Went for club B but they were virtually sold out, tickets also up in price by £60 each. Decided to forget it and went for Woodcote B. 'only' up by £30 each and plenty of availability so I went for them. Only problem is the minutes are counting down. My internet connection (mobile data) is slow. Kicked out just as I was about to enter card details. !!!!

Logged back in to start again even slower now. So another 3 hours?

Tbh don't think I'll bother. Feeling used and abused.

I’m in but what a fking shamblesmadIn the five hours I’ve been waiting it may have helpful to be told I need an account in order to pay rather than a mad last minute scramble to set one up while my session expiry time runs down. wkerslaugh

Managed to grab seats in Woodcote A after an age of queueing and getting kicked out. Are seats 180 (row G) decent? Wondering whether I’ll have a restricted view of wellington straight.

Silverstone have played a blinder, despite the anger they will still sell out, easily, AND demand for season passes will be huge for next year.

I just bought my Goodwood 80MM weekend ticket, even with Fellowship included it felt quite reasonable (especially given the access all areas) after reading about the price increases for the GP even as people had tickets in their basket.

I’m done. Not trying again. I’ll see what’s available when the dust has settled

2nd PC at work just allowed me to pick the now increased £ Club Corner seats, add them to my basket and the timer starts. I m quick enough to select them and go to the payment screen but the timer continues whilst it’s trying to load the page. Timer gets to zero and then it refreshes and empties my basket.

Still in the queue, trying to square the cost of a single grandstand seat being the same as my annual season ticket for me and my son to watch Harlequins !

Pretty appalled by what Silverstone is doing. I'm not going to bother with this. If I am in the UK at GP time I will probably get a ticket on Facebook marketplace or Gumtree shortly before the event. I did that this year for quali and got a grandstand seat for a decent saving.

I got in after 5 hours and got my tickets, last time though. 2024 I'll book a tour to a European race.

Nope. I'm out. After giving up on Club B due to lack of availability and price I went to Woodcote B. It's now £110 more expensive than last year. That's £220 more for the 2 of us on what I already thought was expensive.

I'll be looking for a European GP instead.

Bye Silverstone.

Can't be long until the European curcuits do the same. All the accessible ones i.e. not Azerbaijan. have been sold out early. Why wouldn't they pump prices?

...and finally after 6 1/2 hours of queuing today...... success!
Man maths says I saved myself a fair few quid by not opting for camping, car parking, Mahiki club blah blah blah. Given what it cost if Elvis himself isn't the headline act on the Saturday night I'll be disappointed.

It was much easier in the days when you could pop into a marquee on race day and book tickets for the following year.

Fascinating reading, and quite alarming that so many people are prepared to wait for hours to buy tickets for this. But then somehow Silverstone have managed to turn attending a sporting event into buying Glastonbury tickets, I find that utterly astonishing and rather worrying long term.

I have to applaud the track, they have made buying tickets for a venue that can probably hold close to quarter of a million people if they planned it better and didn't give a toss about you, into a bidding war somewhat akin to Ebay.

Their PR and marketing team are no doubt gong to get some good bonuses.

Just remember the precedent you are setting, YOU, the people are making this venue almost let YOU decide how much you are prepared to pay, THEY are the vendor, not you.
