I think the thing is with anything like this, if someone is in a paddock for an amount of time, regardless of who theya re or how neutral they try toi be they will have favourites, it is human nature.

Roebuck, Hamilton, they all did or do it it is inevitable

Yeah, true , but it's no bad thing , if done well. Mark Hughes writes probably the most dispassionate and objective GP reports of all at the moment but God save us, they are dull. Give me DSJ on Moss or Villeneuve , Lyons on Lauda or Roebuck on Andretti or Villeneuve (again ) any day. Unlike 95% of current writers , journalists like them wrote about all the participants in a Grand Prix , not just the two sparring at the front - but I guess in a Drive to Survive world of F1 dilettantes , it's all about the reality TV style 'battle' at the front and not the event as a whole. Read the utterly dreadful , and woefully uninformed Rebecca Clancy in The Times and you'd think every Grand Prix only had two starters .

I personally find their content very interesting, and informative. Always a go to resource.

I think he is good but find the delivery so awkward as to be almost impossible to listen to. The staccato sentences and splicing every couple of seconds are really irritating.

I think the reason you are missing older type journos is largely because they did proper, real journalistic work, they were able to talk at key moments without PR people guarding, to drivers, team owners, even sponsors, nowadays that is very rarely possible, drivers are taught from an early age to never say anything remotely controversial to any media, to actively distrust media so you get types like Ralf Schumacher and the like who were massively off with most media.

A guy like Jenks or Roebuck would spend years developing relationships with drivers in F2 etc to make sure they got them onside as they progressed.

I will say that Netflix have shown up regular F1 tv productions, Sky should have been doing something like this years ago, they spend enough on hosting it, quite why they have not put together a fly on the wall thing I don't know, probably worried nobody would talk to them anymore.

some people didn't agree that's all ...not everything has to be black & white/ binary

i like Scotts stuff & i tend to agree with him on a lot of things- i just don't agree with him on that incident being solely Hamiltons fault (& neither did the stewards)
