You are true PH legend for producing the info and these threads re the F1 calendar.
Thank you!
Maybe the FIA are going to make amends this weekend for last year. Max makes some minor transgression like treading on one of Mercs pit box air hoses and the FIA award all his 2022 points to Lewis?
Who knows after what happened last year. Doesn’t time fly?
Anyway let’s hope we get a great race.

No doubt they pay a lot to be the last race of the year but it is on at a poor time. Being as they run under lights by the end they should start 5pm gmt.
Such a big event done and dusted by 3pm smacks of people wanting an early flight home.
Probably why last years contoversy was quickly brushed under the carpet as they scrambled to pack their bags
Then resurrected next day as they realized the fans are not mugs.

Other than plenty of money changing hands, it makes absolutely no sense at all that this is the last race. It's a characterless circuit to end the season on and it comes a week after Brazil despite being on the opposite side of the world and all of the other middle east races being at the start of the season. The time slot came about because FOM wanted the race on prime European Sunday afternoon TV, as they’d just demonstrated they could do in Singapore. By a happy coincidence, they can start at 17:00 local time just before sunset, so start in the light and finish in the dark, which gave another USP for the race. Yes, they pay a lot to be the last race. Which, until last year, might often have been considered poor value for money, given the number of dead rubbers in the past decade.

Hamilton - might be wishful thinking (even though i'm a russell fan) but think he desperately needs at least ONE win in the season or he'll get on the stats book for all the wrong reasons!
Makes me laugh. Drivers that have won nothing ever in F1 are safe but someone that has drown in success is meant to be fretting.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
