why did they take the big Aston logos off it.
Because Aston are effectively the main 'sponsor'.Aston Martin don't 'build' that car. It's built by the same company who built the car under all of the team's previous guises (Force India, Spyker, Midland F1 etc.).
Alonso is likely still commercially contracted to Alpine, meaning that the AM 'sponsor' logos can't be present.

As usual, I have absolutely no idea what contentious point you're trying to make.
Well Mercedes don't build that car, its built by the same team that built it before under its previous names of Brawn, Honda, BAR, Tyrrell etcYou have to be pretty stupid to not get the point.....makes sense
Of course Aston Martin build the car, they own the company, they provide the investment in new facilities, personnel etc.

Lawrence Stroll owns the Aston Martin F1 team, not Aston Martin themselves. AM sponsor the team to the tune of around $30m per year for naming rights, but have no shareholding at all. It's really just a way for Stroll to milk money out of AM to pay for his F1 obsession, money that AM can't really afford. You have to be pretty stupid to not get the point.....makes sense

I guess just part of the deal between Alpine and Aston to get Alonso in the car early, to avoid Alonso promoting AM’s sponsors. Looks good though. thegreenhell said:

I think it was clear C70R was making a point they'd not be allowed to drive with a rival sponsor on their contracted driver. The team couldn't care less most likely as they are done for the year, the company paying money for sponsorship would.
I think your energies are probably wasted. He just seems to like arguing. Sometimes with others, sometimes with himself.
A strange bloke.

Yes its very simply about the commercials Alonso is tied to. I was just picking up C70 saying its not really 'Aston Martin'satfinal said:
Nobody really bothers about team lineage, until it's Alpine then it's Enstone this, Enstone that. Peculiar.
Partly because its had so many guises over the years.Similar is spoken of ref Red Bull and Jackie Stewart, Aston by Jackie Stewart, and JB or Brawn about "their" Mercedes team

They are not really Aston Martin. They are owned by Racing Point UK Holdings Limited, which is owned and controlled by Stroll and his fashion business partner Silas Chou. Interestingly, they have just changed the company name back to Racing Point in September of this year, having previously renamed it from Racing Point to AMR GP in January 2021 to coincide with the team name change to Aston Martin.
I'll say it again, the Aston Martin name on the car and team is just sponsorship, not ownership, in the same way the Alfa Romeos are actually still Sauber.

Lots argue this a total abuse of the AM Executive Chair’s position, as the shareholders of loss making Aston Martin plc are paying for the Chair’s F1 team and son to go motor racing.

Maybe they should emulate Mercedes more, and start making Aston Martin vans and rebadged Nissan pick up trucks Stroll (+ associates) and the Saudis control Aston (whatever they are now) PLC.
Stroll is not the ultimate beneficial owner of the F1 team.
Stroll would have done a deal similar to what he did at Williams, he will rent the space on the body work and sell it on.. part of that is a drive for Lance.
Stroll can bring in the Aston name, the Saudis (Aramco), as well as own brands & long term partners.
Stroll has been involved in F1 sponsorship for 30+ years.
