Loving the drive from Vettel.
The wrong man is leaving the team
My biggest issue with the various pay drivers on the grid.
Regardless of everything, Daddy Stroll will keep his son suckling his boob
But I’m looking forward to Alonso showing up Stroll every round next year

He's young and still learning. He'd be mad to pass up the chance of the Mercedes reserve.
No front row starts in F2 is pretty damning, I dont see any major talent there

why did they take the big Aston logos off it.
I guess just part of the deal between Alpine and Aston to get Alonso in the car early, to avoid Alonso promoting AM’s sponsors. Looks good though.

Yes its very simply about the commercials Alonso is tied to. I was just picking up C70 saying its not really 'Aston Martin'
They are not really Aston Martin. They are owned by Racing Point UK Holdings Limited, which is owned and controlled by Stroll and his fashion business partner Silas Chou.

Interestingly, they have just changed the company name back to Racing Point in September of this year, having previously renamed it from Racing Point to AMR GP in January 2021 to coincide with the team name change to Aston Martin.

I'll say it again, the Aston Martin name on the car and team is just sponsorship, not ownership, in the same way the Alfa Romeos are actually still Sauber.
So there's no flow of cash from Aston Martin into the F1 Team? Owned in part by the same man? Its barely different to Mercedes... they just bought facilities, stuck their name on and invested some funds in it.
Aston and Merc F1 teams are fundamentally different. Mercedes owns (ok, now part owns) the F1 team, but Aston Marton Lagonda owns not one share of the F1 team. It is purely sponsorship agreement to £20m per year.

Lots argue this a total abuse of the AM Executive Chair’s position, as the shareholders of loss making Aston Martin plc are paying for the Chair’s F1 team and son to go motor racing.
