Will You Carry on Watching F1?
Discussion
Toto is winding down his career too, now that he has a family.
I think that he & Lewis will both retire at the same time... sooner rather than later.
Mercedes have lost a lot of key personnel... & it’s showing.
NB: The year that you decide not to watch it... turns out to be the best season for many years.
( Sod’s law)

Ask a variety of F1 fans "When do you really feel like the new season has arrived?" and you'll get a variety of answers; for some it's the first car launches, others the first day of winter testing. Some purists hold out for FP1 of the first race.
Personally I think they're all wrong - it's when you get the first whinging moaner banging on an internet thread about how they aren't going to watch it any more.
Seriously, if you don't want to watch any more - you do you. It really isn't any skin off my nose. But do we have to have the dramatic flounces? Every! fking! Year!

I did see Toto Wolff stop and interview with Ted Kravitz to go and congratulate Lawerence Stroll, the two embraced quite emphatically especially considering Mercedes had just had their arses handed to them by a customer team, it did make me wonder if Toto has one eye on the exit door at Mercedes and will wind up at Aston in the not too distant future.
Lawerence only seems interested in hiring the best and Toto is surely on his wish list.
Nothing to do with the fact then that Toto has a 5% financial stake in Aston Martin, therefore probably knows Lawrence pretty well?Lawerence only seems interested in hiring the best and Toto is surely on his wish list.
Toto personally owns a third of the Mercedes team. He's not going to another team.

Even though McLaren are my team and they look woeful so far, I will keep watching as I am not a massive fanny.
Nailed it!Lando’s Ginetta Junior & F4 days seem such a long time ago now.
Going to enjoy & see how the new blood progresses over the years.
But IF Hamilton does win his eighth title... we will still get the ’ninth really’ brigade bleating on.

...Angry. Yes, it doesn't sound like it's any skin off your nose. Somewhat ironic use of the word dramatic before that finale...Personally I think they're all wrong - it's when you get the first whinging moaner banging on an internet thread about how they aren't going to watch it any more.

You do know what the point of this thread is don't you? Clue's in the title

Must admit I also used to clear things out of the way to watch live, now I go and do what I want to before catching up with the FF button getting some use, 2021 didn’t help, followed by cost cap breaches, we don’t know if that will be the case for any teams again when the figures are crunched. Don’t bother with DTS, or the F1 show either.

Several people on here I think need a good hug
Three or four seasons ago every race was eagerly anticipated on the pretext of first corner mayhem due Hamilton and his usual protagonist’s back then. Max came along, he like Lewis back in day has the best car now but there is no one even close. Let’s revisit this thread in 6 races time
I will watch unless the season becomes completely dominated by the same winner each race ( I am not knocking Verstappen, as I had the same sense with Hamilton and Schumacher in the past).
I will not watch the Netflix soap opera of the previous season. I do not care about the personal lives, conflicts, artificial drama etc. I just watch the races.

Sorry but I don't think the Football comparison is a particularly good one here (although I did laugh at the 7-0....) as it's a completely different set of variables, you've got tackling, formations, substitutions, injuries, set pieces, VAR, greater numbers of players on one side, differing schedules, a league, some cups, Europe, International duty, it's barely a footballer and tech, like it is a driver and car....you could probably reel off 50 of these.
It's nothing like Formula 1. Just a crap analogy, sorry
Agreed, football is a bad comparison. It's nothing like Formula 1. Just a crap analogy, sorry
I really do wonder if the drivers' championship should have a separate race, using an identical, standard car and the constructor's championship being based on the teams' cars. So two races each weekend.
100% guarantee the racing would be exciting in the identical cars. And it wouldn't be expensive as the cars would be identical.

Always said that would be a great addition to the weekend racing, never happen though.100% guarantee the racing would be exciting in the identical cars. And it wouldn't be expensive as the cars would be identical.
